Hi I'm 48 IV had my Pacemaker for four years now, been for my check.up.today & was worried to learn I'm now pacing 100% , the first 3 years was only pacing 17% , then last check.up last year was 80% now it's 100% , does this mean my heart is getting worse ? Why would this happen , & could it go down again ? any advice would be great .THANKYOU

Does anyone else have this model?
Thank you!

My cardiologist says I need a pacemaker. My symptoms are minimal to none although my friends know I like to take afternoon naps especially if I'm going out in the evening. I'm 70 and I like naps, OK. Yesterday I hiked 8 miles with my 58 year old wife on a rough hilly trail. Her pulse was around 100 to 120 after the hills and mine was about 90 to 110. (It ranges between 50 and 60 when I'm resting but it does go into the 40s sometimes). &nb...

Hello,
I've been in afib for several months and am scheduled for a pacemaker this month. I'm aware that after the pacemaker is implanted, and the A-V node is ablated, the atria will continue to fibrillate and will no longer contribute to the pumping action of the heart. I have been very weak while in afib and my doctor said I may be one of the people who needs the 10-30% kick that the atria contribute. Has anyone had this problem, where they continue to feel weak and breat...

I don't know who develops the Polls for the site, but I always find the options we can select from to be sadly lacking. More thought should go into the options. For example, the current Poll "What is the best word to describe someone who has a device?" offers the options of Patient or Recipient. Well what about;
- Guinea pig
- Victim
- Dearly Departed
- Battery Operated
just to mention a few off the...

Just a question for the group- so I have all kinds of fun stuff going on - second pacemaker in 5 years, added a third lead with the second implant. I have afib, and complete heart block, and failure
Recently on my lay remote check, dr noted that I was in 68% afib for about two months. I am on eliquis, low dose of lisinapril, and low dose of carvedilol, (fortunately high blood pressure is one issue I don't have) and lasix
Just wondering if anyone has had the d...

I haven't been on hear awhile. I am on my third pacemaker. I also sleep apnea. I recently got new mask with straps that have button magnets in them and was wondering if they pose a problem to the pacemaker?
Thanks
Karen

Hi all,
My 4 year old has chb and had pacemaker inserted since birth.
We are planning to travel to Portugal or Majorca in Spain next year.
Incase he has a fall/bang to pacemaker and it stops working while there does anyone know of hospitals that implant for children in those countries? I know chances are slim of it happening but you have to think of all circumstances.

My pacemaker is no longer needed. Lower threshold has been turned down to 40 and I am pacing zero percent. After ablation, I was able to stop taking beta blocker and rhythm control meds which were causing bradycardia. I should have had ablation first and probably would have never needed pacemaker. I am considering having it removed because it is uncomfortable and inconvenient. Doc says it is a simple procedure. Just wondering if anyone else has had an extra...

Hi all, I'm in my 40s, have bradycardia, am very physically active. My pacer is set to pace me if my heart rate falls below 45. My resting heart rate is around 45, though of course hard to tell with the PM. I keep track of my stats and in the four or so years I've had my PM I've been paced 15-25% of the time. At my most recent remote appointment I was told I'm being paced 3% of the time since my last visit (about 6 months). The tech did not see any cause for alarm. I think it&...

Hello, I am 80 years old, it has been a year now since I got the pacemaker put in and I am adapting very well. Last time I was at my pacemaker/doctor appt, they were saying my pacemaker is working at 93%.
May sound like a weird question, but what are the odds that when I go again (Sept 18), that this number could be less?
I guess what I mean, does the heart ever start to get stronger on its own, from the use of this pacemaker ? Also, is 93% ba...

I have a Medtronic Viva XT - CRT . At times this AM, while feeling fatigued (altho I feel I slept well last night in spite of my BPH problem) I took my blood presure: 105/60 pulse 46. I'm normally a 110/65 pulse 72 kinda guy. A recheck a few minutes ago showed 117/74 pulse 75. I already have an appt. this Thursday with my heart failure specialist - whose specialty is echocardiography -- and is considered "the man" regarding the heart. I know I...
