Hi all,
My 4 year old has chb and had pacemaker inserted since birth.
We are planning to travel to Portugal or Majorca in Spain next year.
Incase he has a fall/bang to pacemaker and it stops working while there does anyone know of hospitals that implant for children in those countries? I know chances are slim of it happening but you have to think of all circumstances.

Thanks for your post. I will contact Medtronic and maybe ask my son's consultant cardiologist does he know anything about this.
Thank you Robin reminding me that it is highly unlikely anything will happen to pm. I can be a real worry wart sometimes! He is on his second pm. His first got wires damaged and needed to be replaced. But that first one was in stomach area and the leads led up to the heart. We dont really know how he damaged them but he did love throwing himself on the back of the sofa!
Yes will check doctors list carefully.
Many thanks.
You know you're wired when...
You fondly named your implanted buddy.

Check the pm manufacturer website for their contact info or ask your pm rep. They can give you the best brand guidance.
Last year when I was 6 months pm post op I was in Spain and Portugal. While I am an adult, I had similar questions before the trip. My pm rep gave me guidance and the assurances I needed. Hopefully they can help you also.
