I have a Micra Transcatheter Pacemaker. Have had it slightly over a week. It has made a lot of difference.
Does anyone else have this model?
Thank you!

I did not realize until after my surgery that I had a choice, ha- I was shown both models and opted for the Micra. I found out that only a handful of people in my town have this particular model.
I had an implantable Medtronic Heart Monitor put in after I passed out for several hours. After passing out a second time a few months later the loop recorder showed that I had several long pauses lasting 9 seconds so I received the Micra the next day.
The implantable heart monitor was fantastic because it was able to pinpoint exactly what happened to me and why. It was removed when the Micra was put in.

The Micra is a new model pacemaker and has a very limited application. Unless you are paced in a single chamber you cannot use it, and forget defibrillators. Since they are so new, you won't hear about a lot of members having them but soon it'll be more common I'm sure.

Hey Jelly beans: I love my Micra also. No longer any dizzy speels when bending down or shortness of breath. Rate set at 45 rather than the low 30"s pre PM. Leg is good and healed so did a nice bike ride along the ocean todsy. Kayaking planned tomorrow, tons of whales everywhere to see First doctor visit in 3 days, cant wait. Obtained my procedure report from cath lab, as well as CD Images from fluoroscopy sceeen during implantation and portable x ray image of chest too. Will ask why HR rate max is set at 130 when actual max heart rate for my age is 153. Also ordering a pacemaker wrist band as many of my sports activities are without a wallet

Glad you like your Micra. I love mine too. It was a very easy surgery. I have not passed out since receiving it.
I understand there are single/dual chamber pacemakers but not everyone needs dual chambers. I didn't.
Have a wonderful time kayaking! :-)
