Bradycardia

I have a Medtronic Viva XT - CRT .  At times this AM, while feeling fatigued (altho I feel I slept well last night in spite of my BPH problem) I took my blood presure:  105/60  pulse 46.  I'm normally a 110/65 pulse 72 kinda guy.  A recheck a few minutes ago showed 117/74 pulse 75.  I already have an appt. this Thursday with my heart failure specialist - whose specialty is echocardiography -- and is considered "the man" regarding the heart. I know I'll bring this issue up with him. Hoping I don't require an EMS ride beforehand.

If a machine tells you a low number, count it manually. Sometimes pacing throws it off. Do you know what your minimum is? If it's 50, then 46 is acceptable. They are programmed by the second, not the minute, so over the course of a minute it may not work out to exactly to the minimum setting. There are a lot of harmless reasons why the count could be off.

Thanks, Tracy...............I suspect the dosage of 12.5mg Coreg 2X daily was the culprit.  I've been playing with only taking 6.25mg 2X daily. (I have a supply of the 6.25 mg tabs) After I posted yesterday, I went into the hot garage and did some work on my car, and felt better. BP and pulse have been fine ever since. - 119/65 p80.  I can imagine my meeting with my cardio Doc this Thursday -- he'll want me to continue the 12.5 dosage and I'll say, "No way!"

If you are paced, the pacer will kick in if the meds get your rate too low.

I love this new part of me, and very, very thankful that this technology exists and I know that it's all only going to get better over time.
