Hi all … I have been feeling sick, very tired, and dizzy . I have not fainted. I'm a female fighter and I'm really worried about my job. The cardiologist has said I may need a pacemaker ... Do I really need one? Will I be able to go back to work? No other heart problems it's just slow.

Hello, I'm seeking advice. I've had my pm since 9th March this year and it is set to maintain my heart at 60 bpm. It has been perfect until now. Last night my heart rate was 40 for several hours and I was feeling unwell, completely wiped out. All back to normal today. My query is I don't know what to do. I have an appointment with cardiologist 21st June - can I leave it until then or should I seek help sooner. I live in the UK and wish we...

Just wondering if a 5-year old Medronic can be replaced with the new model that sits inside the heart. I find the existing pacer a bit uncomfortable, particularly at night and would love to enjoy the newer version while I still have a few years left in me. Any idea what would happen to the pocket under the shoulder and the leads and wires if the old model were removed?

1st post here. Thanks in advance for your time.
46 male here having just been diagnosed with Sick Sinus Syndrome with tachy/bradycardia, 1st degree right AV block, right branch block...
Have been told I need a 2 chamber PM, and have had second opinions that confirm.
Ready to schedule the implant, but have a dilemma as to which brand and model.
Implant EP preffers StJude. Second opinion doctor says I should get something MRI compatible, disqualifying...

Kia Ora and Hello all. :)
So I was recently offered/asked by a friend of mine to be a travelling companion/bodyguard in a move over to Japan to live and find work. Now this may not happen for a couple of years yet but i'm excited and really want to take the opportunity, especially as I love Japanese culture and its something very few of us actually achieve or only go on a holiday basis.
Now I know there are quite a few people on here that are expats or have lived in another...

Hi
I have terrible flu symptoms, and without thinking too much I just took a tablet that contain 60mg pseudoephedrine. It was combo of 4 things, and I just checked that the pills don´t interact with warfarin ie sintrom (all good to go) and popped the pill in..and little while after thought geee....and the pacemaker???
Any experiences? Just sit back, wait for the nose to stop running and look forward in seeing the heart doing laps instead? Is it terribly dangerous or just downri...

Hello, I will have a dual lead pm soon. I prefer a Medtronic just because there seems to be less negative information available about this device. Second choice would be Boston. My question is, can Medtronic serve me well in rate response when I am running? When I swim, I am able to get to a comfortable enough heart rate, so that's ok. But it has become impossible for me to get enough energy and breath to run. My other symptoms, low RP and dizziness, I assume will go away with any device. Ca...

I am curious to know if anyone out there has had their pacemaker removed prior to the generator change date? My single lead (RV lead) pacemaker was inserted in Feb 2016 for pre-syncopal events caused by intermittent 3rd degree AV block (3 sec and 6 sec pauses). If there comes a time when I am not paced ever again (i.e. no more pauses), I wonder if my EP doctor would consider removing the pacemaker? How long a time without pauses would be considered a reason to remove the pacemaker? Has anyone ou...

Hello folks, my last post here was almost two years ago when I was looking for some information concerning AV Node Ablations which it looked like at the time was my next course of action.
Iâm hoping there are some new users here that have had this procedure or can point me in the direction of some adviceâ¦..or reassurance!
I have a fairly complicated cardiac history which started in 2009 with an episode of SVT caused by Wolf Parkinson White Syndrome which I knew I had an...

Hello, I'm a 45 yo male who's completed several long distance and ultra running events. I've seen several cardiologists and gone through all the standard tests. I have a resting heart rate of 30-35. My symptoms are dizziness from time to time and the inability for my heart rate to climb during exercise or racing. I did some tempo training the other day and my heart rate never passed 120. I can still race, but becoming more slow and difficult as heart just won't go like it use to. Showing s...

Hi Everyone,
Just signed up today and thought I'd introduce myself. My Name is Matt and I live in the UK, I am 30 years old and have always been very fit and active, I have been doing HIIT, Crossfit and Muay Thai kickboxing for as long as I can remember and for years played Rugby also. Mid way through December just gone I had what I would describe as a possible chest infection, symptoms were shortness of breath, tiredness with what felt like a congested chest feeling when breathing,...

Happy with my PM since August 2012, but flutter is really getting to me. I had gone 15 months without a cardioversion (good for me). Now I have had to get cardioverted April 3 and then again May 10. I'ts not holding this time. I'm back in my flutter. It seems I have developed my own special arrhythmia as I can be in one with a pulse of 60. They are calling it a subtle arrhythmia.
I've been on Flecainide lately and now they have added Verapamil. EP even said the combo could get me bac...

Hello. I am still learning the topic. My cardiologist told me he will implant a dual camera pm. I am trying to understand why I can't just have the leads on one side and I am also concerned that having the dual chamber puts me at greater risk. Can anyone address this in simple terms? Thank you.
