Hi needing some advice if possible.. in feb I had a permanent PM for an Intermittant Complete Heart Block. 2 wks ago I had to have a atrial lead revision and relocation but over these past 2 days Ive been having constant palpitations and a thumping headache and constant nausea. Ive contacted my cardiologist but no one seems concerned at all and I'm feeling worse. Can anyone give me some advice please Im desperate.

Just found this group. I had a pacemaker implant 1 week ago and my arm is so sore, my rib cage is bruised and my thigh is hurting. I guess I was comparing my surgery with my BIL and he didn't experience any of this soreness. I see my dr tomorrow for my post op appt. Glad to be on this support group!

I would like to know when can I start driving myself...... my doctor said I must be careful with my left arm for 6 weeks, especially not to lift above my shoulder/my head.
It is now 3 weeks since PM, and I'm feeling fine, I would love to drive myself, will have more freedom, but wondering IF because I have to change gears with my left hand.... if anyone has an answer for me please?
I have my cardiologists mobile nr, but don't want to bother him with trivialities..... I am n...

Hi
I have been a member for a number of years now, did not ever thought I would be hear again. after 7 years of not needing the pacemaker and no more AF after a successful ablation I have the pacemaker removed completely to be able to have a MRI scan. this was done successfully last year and I have a can in November, this gave me a diagnosis for MS which was expected and I went ahead with treatment.
2 weeks ago completely out of the blue I ended up in ED it was touch an...

Had my appointment with the Consultant this morning, told how much better I felt after last clinic visit but still the problems of arrhythmias. Had a good chat and he came straight out with the real possibility of complete AV node ablation. That even though I feel better at the moment things are highly likely to go down hill, so I am going back on Verapamil 240 for 3 months to see how that goes. However I haven't had a great deal of success with meds in the past.
I suspected there may have...

I would like to shed my phone landline, but the VoIP services I have contacted indicate there is no guarantee my St Jude Merlin@home MX1150 will effectively transfer the data. There is a WiFi USB adapter that is supposed to work. Has anybody used one of these and what would be an approximate cost?
Thanks

hello I am a 42 year old mom of 4 young children and had had arrythmias over the years . I have had 2 ablutions the last one being over 5 years ago 10 days after my last pregnancy. My Ep specialist thinks they touched on an area that affected me during the ablation and that's why I have had so many issues. I was off meds for about 3 years because I had not gone into tachycardia so therefore I felt I would be better off putting up with my arrythmias that were so called non life threatening. So to...

Well just back from a walking holiday in Austria/Italy, part of the E5. What can I say!! three weeks before going I could not get up a flight of stairs I felt nearly as bad as before PM op. After a treadmill test and PM settings changed again the difference has been amazing. I was able to walk most days even doing climbs of 800m and lots of big down hills. After the first day I learnt to pace myself, kept trying to go to quick and making my self feel a bit rubbish. My poor legs were in complete...

ICD is one year old. Changed in July 2014. In September 2014, ICD started alarming every 4 hours for 15 seconds. Went to ER. Diagnosed with some sort of interfearance. Electrical storm was in area. Now exactly one year to date of alarming went off, ICD is alarming again. Once again, large thunder storm in area. This time I am on vacation. How long can I go with this alarming before they can reset the ICD. There are no pacemaker clinics in the area. I did the phone test. And showed no abnormal ac...

For all of you with big bulky Medical ID's... I strongly recommend laurenshope.com, they have beautiful bracelets for men, women, and children. In there catalog they have a selection of interchangeable bracelets too so you can change it for different occasions or if your tag needs to be changed. They can be a little more money than one at a jeweler, but I think you should check it out.

Hi everyone! I'm new to this. I don't have a PM yet but my cardiologist says that my pacemaker will be done as an "Elective Procedure." What does that mean, elective?
I'm 25 and I found out about my Third degree AV block when I was 19. I was well aware that my heart rate was in the 40s but I didn't do anything about it since I thought that I was handling it well. I just had occasional difficulty of breathing and feeling sleepy all the time but it was manageable for years. Nev...

After my grandma hounded me in finding a support group... Being an incompetent 15 year old I thought the idea of it was stupid and expressing my emotions about what I have been going through was stupid, but I am now a week post op for my second ICD surgery in the past month and right about now, finding this website was so comforting seeing all these people that understand. How is someone really going to understand unless they have been through this? But for all of you on here with an ICD, if you...

Hi,
I have a question my grandfather has been in the hospital for 3 months so far. They wanted to do a bypass out of the blue recently when that was brought to the table in the beginning.
We decided he would have a better chance of survival with the pacemaker. Now we are being told that Medicare has a waiting period of 3 months from some type of test. So we have one more month to go until he gets this pacemaker. I don't know if anyone out there ever experienced this before. i just don'...
