Well just back from a walking holiday in Austria/Italy, part of the E5. What can I say!! three weeks before going I could not get up a flight of stairs I felt nearly as bad as before PM op. After a treadmill test and PM settings changed again the difference has been amazing. I was able to walk most days even doing climbs of 800m and lots of big down hills. After the first day I learnt to pace myself, kept trying to go to quick and making my self feel a bit rubbish. My poor legs were in complete shock thighs and calf's giving me a sharp reminder how unfit I had become. I was sensible (after the first day tears/divorce) used buses to brake up days or using cable cars to take big pack up to huts. If anyone saw me one day walking down from a coll in the thunder and lighting strong wind and hailstones with a smile on my face would think I had lost the plot. But over the last 6months I never thought I would be able to do such things again.
Still getting some fast arrhythmias which last 2-3mins and spells of slower irregularities but see the Consultant on Wednesday so will see if there are any more improvement's to be made.
So a very big thanks to all who have supported me over the last while often diagnosing problems quicker than the hospital, and just good old fashioned support.
PS I bought myself a new back pack Osprey ladies Aura AG 65, was vey comfy and gave me no problems over PM site.
Thanks so much
