CRT-D

Good afternoon to all, I am so upset with the damn ER Doctors with their stupidity. I let two Doctors know that I have a CRT-D they have no clue what that is . So my question is this is there another name that it is called?

I've had a few Doctors looked confused too....It's not their specialty.

Now I just say I have a pacemaker with a defibrillator. With all the medical lingo, it seems simple language is the best.

They do need to be removed ..But, then, I did not know what a CRT-D is either , before this site , and the pacemaker.. They are not so smart .. and we are not either .. ..As with all things ..there are many names and terms ..fear not in using these , the smart doctors will learn and the stupid one will fall by the wayside. ..I'll define the stupid ones .. its simply due to their NOT LISTENING !!!
And why is this ?

Was in cardio rehab

Was in cardio rehab. Made the mistake of telling the nurses I was in afib. Regardless of my protests, was frog marched down to the ER. After all the frantic activity slowed down, the ER doctor came in, told me I had to go to the main hospital, they were going to "cure" my afib. I told him I'd like to see 'em do it as I had been there about 8 weeks ago and they hadn't done it then.

So we ended up nose-to-nose with me saying I didn't need to go to the main hospital and him telling me he had no choice. Finally had him call my cardiologist. If my doctor said I had to go, I'd go. Fortunately my cardiologist said, "Leave the poor guy alone."

The only place I could get straight answers was this forum. Everywhere else was miscommunication and misinformation - and that was from medical people who should have known better. And, supposedly, we have the best medical care in the world?? Makes you wonder sometimes.

Thanks
