complete new pacemaker

Hi

I have been a member for a number of years now, did not ever thought I would be hear again. after 7 years of not needing the pacemaker and no more AF after a successful ablation I have the pacemaker removed completely to be able to have a MRI scan. this was done successfully last year and I have a can in November, this gave me a diagnosis for MS which was expected and I went ahead with treatment.

2 weeks ago completely out of the blue I ended up in ED it was touch and go and they implanted a new pacemaker with leads at 10 pm, it worked and I was allowed to go home Sunday afternoon. I was also told this one was MRI compatible, I am also back on warfarin because I had Bradycardia/tachycardia and Atrial Fibrillation. I feel that I am back to square 1 and still have to deal with the MS

My new pacemaker is Euromed one, does anyone heard of this? and have they had a MRI scan

I'm so sorry you are back to paced and dealing with MS. Prayers for your strength.

I think you're the first I've heard of who has had a PM removed and then got another. Quite a story.

One question for you.... I was on Warfarin and hated it. Ended up in the hospital because my doctor was more interested in reading his charts than in me. Now I'm on Eliquis (Apixiban). I really like it, Don't bleed as much, minimal side effects. No blood testing. It is more expensive though. Have you asked your doctor about Eliquis (Apixiban)? A suggestion.

I have one of the MRI compatible Medtronics and MRI compatible leads. Have had a MRI. No problems. Actually had more problems with the MRI table because my rib was broken at the time and the hard table really made it hurt. PM was no problem.

Sorry about the MS. Hope the newer meds can help you with that.
