Always been curious as to the benefits of driving on the left/right, reading a couple of messages today I realise that in terms of having a pacemaker the lefties have it ok if you are driving.
Best wishes to everyone in the club

OK group, I know no one should go out in a lightning storm, but sometime you are just stuck. This last Monday we were playing golf and could hear thunder and see lightning off in the distance, no rain. The course blew the horn to clear the course. Since there was no rain, most of us stayed on the course. I was told one of the guys behind us went in because he had a pacemaker. Made no sense to me. Guess he thought he might be a lightning rod because of his PM. I thought gee, I have my clubs, chan...

Hi, I'm new to this, but I need a little feedback. I'm going in this month for "left mini thoracodamy w/epicardial lead placement & permanent pacemaker". Needless to say, I'm terrified. I'm 58 years old and have a mechanical tricuspid valve. Does anybody know anything about this type surgery, and the recovery time?

Hey ~ 26 hours and 19 minutes until I arrive at the hospital to have a dual chamber pacemaker implanted. I'm a single female who turned 57 the end of March I am feeling anxious and overwhelmed. Last fall I started having episodes walking from my car up to my front door then they became more frequent, just walking across the room or rolling over in bed. Now here I am. I just hope this constant shortness of breath will be gone. On my birthday I went to the hospital for a stress test which I had be...

Hi, I'm 42 yrs old and 2nd week with pacemaker. Bit of a shock at first however realizing that having this device in me is going to help with my quality of life. I teach powerskating and play ice hockey so a bit nervous about that. I have looked up the pacemakerguard and was intrigued by this. I will pursue this a bit further. I'm thankful for every one at the hospital and my family that is there to support me through this next chapter in my life.
cheers

I had a St Jude two lead PM implanted Feb 5 2014 because of BRADY and SSS. For the most part, the PM has made a significant difference, no head aches, on SOB, and only an occasional dizziness.. However, I have had three instances where I feel a lot like I did before the PM implant. The first such instance was after about a month. I went to the pacemaker clinic and the nurse did an interrogation and said things were fine. She said she made some minor adjustment, I don't know what, but the next d...

I feel fantastic! and am so glad I have this new little friend! We are leaving on vaca tomorrow and so looking forward to it! For once in a long time I feel decent enough to ENJOY it! the last few vacations we've been on I have enjoyed but they seemed more work and struggle than they were worth. (because I didn't have any energy or stamina) N...

I am happy to see that this is a current / active website. But I have a couple of questions. I see lots of questions posted but NO answers??? My other question is does anyone have experience with backpacking with a pacemaker? Seems like you wouldn't be able to do it and I hope that is not the case. Thank you.

Hello ~ I just found out today that I will be getting a pacemaker on Thursday and was wondering if this website is still active? It looks like the most recent post was a year ago? I'm pretty nervous about getting an implant. I just turned 57 and I only started having issues last fall but I had to wait until I had insurance. I do hope this is still active. Thanks.

Hi my name is Gavin
I had heart failure 2 years ago at that stage my heart was functioning at 13% over the past years it has increased to about 23%. I am 51 year old male I also have had Epilepsy grandmal since a child and have been diagnosed with bi-polar both are under control to the point you wouldn't even know so as one can imagine my cocktail of meds is fairly big the doctors assume this was one of the causes to the heart failure.
My question is how much will a pacemak...

I have had my Boston Scientific PM for a year for SSS and had a question on what I call, for a lack of better words, "episodes". I sometimes get a feeling that is like something washing over my body. Once this passes, I'm left very shaky and weak. Don't remember having this before pacemaker. It can happen at any time. If I'm startled or if I'm just sitting watching TV.
Has anyone else experienced this?

Just wanted to introduce myself and offer my best regards to the group. I am a 70 year old retired pacemaker rep. I had over 30 years in the business and have been retired since 1998. I would be pleased to hear from young people working in the field today in order to learn new technology and understand how the business is run today.
Thank you,

EMI testing ordered on Dr Release as terms to return to work. Is employer required to comply and do test?
Cannot find this answer, seem to be getting run around from all sides.

Hi all, just wondering if anyone out there has Ms. Just had my pm implant 3 wks and feeling good for the most part. Still very tender and feels like I have a back pack on one shoulder but hey, I am a lucky lady waking up on the right side of the dirt! My pm is a Medtronic MRI compatible so that we can still monitor the ms. I have noticed one big improvement, my balance is sharper. So far back to using my cane instead of the walker. Also want to thank the helpful info on what types of bras work b...

Hi
Unable to find any info so I thought I'd ask for some help. Thursday I underwent an ICD change to a Cardiac Resynchronization adding a third lead. The actual surgery went well, but I am having considerable shortness of breath. Something I rarely had before.
Original disease is HOCM. Have low EF. Have MV prolapse Full heart block.
I was wondering if anyone else felt like this after surgery & if it improved. Dr said we had to wait & see. But he did say that the QR was n...
