This year's flu season will be my first year dealing with the potential flu since I had PM implanted in March this year. Before PM, I have flu shots every year. I was wondering if anyone knows or can share any experience about getting a flu shot or catching a flue or taking flu medicines with a PM. Do flu shots or flu medicines have an affect on arrythmia, afib, etc? Any info is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Have a nice day.

Hello all,
Does anybody know if there is a correlation between PVCs and being active. I jog roughly 50 miles a week, but noticed an increase in my PVCc, I just had a 4 month follow-up and my PVC singles are 5470 accoring to my Final Interrogation Report.
By the way, my AP/VP is 0%. I'm not pacing at all. The last report was AS/VS 99.7%. (May 2, 2013)
Would appreciate anybody's input.
Thanks,
>^..^<

10 weeks post impkant, 13.5 miles in 84 degree heat, not gonna let a couple of wires screwed into my heart stop me. We won't talk about how long it took me to do them, or how many walk breaks I needed. Just happy to finish upright!

I have had a CRT unit for 4 months now. And I am wondering if any of you guys have a problem straining feeling in your chest when you lift fairly heavy objects? I work Retail and part of my job is stocking. I dont know if the strained feeling I get is normal with Cardiomyopathy of something I should be concerned with. When it happens I feel tired for a few minutes then it returns to normal later.

Hi all,
Since my st Jude dual chamber pm was inserted 4yrs ago I've had random breathing difficulties, but over the week its got progressively worse, I'm not getting a tight chest, throat feels like theres a constant pressure on it, I have a nervous butterfly feeling in my chest, my heart rate monitor app which is normally very accurate is jumping from 50-148bpm but if I take it from my wrist its 62bpm, I went to cardiology they said the pm won't be the cause my pm check was fine, I h...

I am trying to walk the line between practical and paranoid as far as traveling long distances for vacations. Our daughter is getting married in Italy in 2 weeks. My husband wants to buy me a noise canceling headphone to use on the flight, (I have difficulty hearing the the sound of the offered movies ) My Boston Scientific pacemaker has been reading"(less than 6 months" for 7 months and I have to wait to have it replaced until the battery officially needs to be replaced in order to have Medi...

Hi!
I just read a very nice comment by someone who said that I always share valuable input/information here - thanks a lot! But I need to apologize for being rather quiet lately. I'm doing a fulltime advanced training in the field of "public relations". Getting a lot of input everyday, so in the evenings I'm usually exhausted because my brain needs to "digest" everything I learned. The seminar takes another four weeks, but after that I should be posting more often again.

I have just had a pacemaker fitted and wondered if I could get a plastic credit card style card to carry in my wallet rather than the whole fold up thing I've been given. Does anybody know?

I had my ICD implanted two weeks ago and was given Metoprolol 12.5mg twice per day. I'm an avid cyclist and former marathon runner so being active is very important to me. The Metroprolol totally zapped my ability to exercise with any intensity. I know it's only been two weeks but the EP and my cardiologist cleared me to ride my bike indoors on the trainer until the leads are healed. Long story short at my follow up yestserday the cardiologiet gave me Bystiolc (nebivolol) saying that it dosen't...

My dr and pharmacist both said atenolol does not cause weight gain or slow metabolism, but talking to others on it and an article I found on Mayo's website make me think I'm not alone and it's not my imagination. I exercise hard 5 days a week and am very active. I am religious about tracking my food, I eat a net 1200-1300 calories a day. I eat mostly lean meat, fruits and veggies, nuts, very little grains/sugar/processed foods. And I cannot lose the extra 15# around my waist! My blood work, sp...

Hi .......
I know I may be asking somewhat of the same question but I'm confused as to why my HR while at rest. (in the middle of the night) will go up to 118 - then to 98 - then 80 then back up....... as it did this morning. I am set at 80.. and 70 for rest. I know it should go up when exerting any energy and it does which does not concern me. This however I find strange. Is it normal? I had my PM implanted in late April and it was set at 80. It took a while to get used to but when...

Whilst I check the great site from week to week it's been several months since I posted - alot has happened in that time. I have been saddened to see some of the club's stalwarts are no longer with us, you will know who they are :-(
Personally, I have been doing great, both physically and mentally however events on monday gave me a stark reminder of how quickly things can change. I have just returned from a weeks holiday with the GF, enjoying the sun of southern spain, eating healthy...

Hi All;
Just had my PM a week ago. Trying to get use to the bump on my shoulder. Quick question. I do woodworking as a hobby, and I use my Router quit a bit. Does the RPMs from routers (or any other woodworking machine affect PMs? Thought I'd ask the question before I wonder off to the shop and find out the hard way.
Thanks;

I have had my pm just on 2 years and like most others was very anxious about living with a pm. A couple of days ago I had to have an xray on my shoulder, after taking the first picture, the technician came over to me all of a flutter, asking did I have a pacemakers, I had completely forgotten about it, it is so much part of me that I just enjoy the benefits from having one. There was no problem having an xray with a pm I think she was surprised to see the wires etc on screen. Hope you are all...

Had a pacer placed in March 2013. Continuing to have intermittent about every 10 days to 2 weeks episodes of significant short term memory loss where I can't remember anything newer than 6 months. Episodes last from 2- 10 minutes. I am able to call my family but not able to remember significant events like my horse's name or what happened in the last few weeks. The memories all come back within about 10-15 minutes. Sometimes I experience a sensation in my left lower chest like a buzzing or...
