The return od Brer B'ar

Well, he's been back - several times Last night he surprised Wife when she went out to the car to get something she had forgotten. I watched her through her front window as she walked up as far as the right front fender, then saw her start running. I looked out the side window & saw The Bear (apologies to William Faulkner) running toward the front of the house. She got to the door before the bear got anywhere near where she was. Then we discovered that he had lifted the big plastic lid off...

Response to Heart Pain with pacemaker

Since we can't respond under your post for now....here goes:

Loyada, only 3 days post op, as you know, you have some healing to do so it's hard to say. Is the sharp pain coming from the incision site or more around your heart? Sometimes when we are healing in the beginning, we can feel the nerves knitting back together and the healing process in general around the incision site.

When in doubt, it is best to call your Doctor and discuss it with him/ her, but ask any que...

A Guide to What Is and Isn't Safe

I see that a lot of ya'll are wondering what is safe and dangerous to be around. I found this Boston Scientific document that answers many of your questions. It doesn't mine though. If anyone knows if I am able to use and be a patient of cosmetic lasers such as lipo laser... please let me know. That is actually not listed in the document but it is still very informative. I'm thinking about being a medical esthetician but I do not see the point if I can't work on my clients with cosmetic lasers....

Heart Pacemaker Please help we can't make decision

Hi I'm Howie, My Girlfriend of 2 years Rose who is very dedicated to me went to Long Island Jewish Hospital in New Hyde Park, New York on Thursday to have a angiogram, and back on Friday to have a special Echo Cardio gram 3D. The specialist said I need a Pacemaker. I have cardio myopathy and I'm experiencing PVC which I don't even feel. we were sent home with a halter monitor to check on my heart 48 hours, to see how many PVC I experience in that time. We also got a diary to jot down all of my...

Thank you from Howie

Hello to everyone from Howie and Rose.
Yes we have a cardiologist and a EP. the 3D cardiogram showed 36% and my blood pressure was 98 over 70. The halter monitor has to be on me for 48 hours so I haven't had it on long enough to give you an answer as to the results. We'll know Monday the 24th in the evening.
I was told that using a electric drill or any saw can through off the pace maker because of the vibration and it may not work properly after that and you won't really know it. Th...

fluttering in chest after Pacemaker implantation

Hello Fellow Bionics,

I had a Pe.acemaker implanted in late April and I am told it is working well.I am not so sure.

I have experienced one ot two episodes of dizziness which come and go.Last week the technician decided to elevate my base heartrate from 60 to 70--explaining that it was probably due to my heartrate dropping too quickly when my sinus node misbehaves. So my Heartrate falling from ,say 90 to 60 very rapidly causes my BP to fall and hence the dizziness.OK.S...

Military Medical Retirement?

Hello Everyone,

I have been in the USMC for just over 11 years. My heart palpitations started in 2009 and had all tests done to investigate the problem. I was told I had a 1st Degree AV Block but wasn't bad enough to do any intervention. Last Friday my palpitations came back but this time was more intense and lasted for 5 days. I finally went to the ER on Monday night and was told my heart was bouncing from a 1st Degree AV Block to a 3rd Degree AV Block. Also, my resting pulse wa...

pacemaker warranty

I have a St. Jude Anthem cardiac resynchronization device pacemaker (3 leads) for the second time in 3 years and 3 months. I was told originally the pacemaker had a warranty of 5 years and now they are telling me that the warranty doesn't apply in my case because it is my left ventricle that needs so much power that the battery ran down in 3 years and 3 months. I can't find the warranty online and I can't seem to get any straight answers about what the warranty does cover. Have any of you had...
