A Guide to What Is and Isn't Safe

I see that a lot of ya'll are wondering what is safe and dangerous to be around. I found this Boston Scientific document that answers many of your questions. It doesn't mine though. If anyone knows if I am able to use and be a patient of cosmetic lasers such as lipo laser... please let me know. That is actually not listed in the document but it is still very informative. I'm thinking about being a medical esthetician but I do not see the point if I can't work on my clients with cosmetic lasers. Alright, here it is: http://www.indoorairsite.com/Generic_Interferences_Boston_Scientific_CRM.pdf

Not Half Bad!

Almost agrees w/ what we say in here based on practical experience.

I don't recall any magnetic fields being associated w/ lasers of any kind. They should be safe for your use.

IIRC, the laser beam is generated in a location remote by a couple feet from the hand piece that delivers the beam to its target. The beam is conducted from generator to hand piece by a fiber optic cable. You are not talking about a laser beam capable of knocking airplanes out of the sky - only a couple of watts power. If you are interested in becoming a laser treatment provider, go to the school & talk to them about the laser device & how it functions. I thik you wil find that it is as I have described.

I read that they recommend that you keep battery powered power tools at least a foot away from your device. I have leaned into my 1/2 inch Bosh 24 volt battery operated drill w/ my sternum right over the back end of the drill - less than 6 inches away - ZERO ill effect.

Their concern about lawnmowers & other yard equipment is the potential for magnetic field effects on the device. They all have magneto ignitions - which have rather powerful permanent magnets embedded in the flywheel. I have never had a problem w/ them. Chainsaws might well affect a RR function from the vibration, but again, I've had no problems w/ mine. Ditto for weed eaters.
