Military Medical Retirement?

Hello Everyone,

I have been in the USMC for just over 11 years. My heart palpitations started in 2009 and had all tests done to investigate the problem. I was told I had a 1st Degree AV Block but wasn't bad enough to do any intervention. Last Friday my palpitations came back but this time was more intense and lasted for 5 days. I finally went to the ER on Monday night and was told my heart was bouncing from a 1st Degree AV Block to a 3rd Degree AV Block. Also, my resting pulse was down to 28BPM. The ER immediately admitted me to the hospital and installed a pacemaker. I'm asking anyone who has experience with this or knows of any similar situations with insight. Will I receive a medical retirement and VA disability compensation? Also, does anyone know how long this process will take?
