Time for a laugh! Life gets too serious sometimes.
On January 9, a group of bikers were riding west on I-74 when they saw a girl about to jump off a tall bridge, so they stopped.
The leader, George, a big burly man of 53, gets off his bike, walks through the gawkers, past the State Trooper, and says, "What are you doing?"
"I'm going to commit suicide," she says.
While he didn't want to appear "sensitive" he didn't want to miss a be-a-legend opportunity...

I received a St Jude PM 2210 pacemaker in April and have since been operated again because of a loose lead and will have to be operated again for the same problem. Anyone experience with this? I am afraid the this will not solve the problem.

How I yearn for some undisturbed sleep. I am kept awake by my poundings and irregular heart rate. This is something that started about ten days ago and I try to console myself by reading all the articles that say "they" won't kill you. Does help a little. After my last interrogation about two months ago I had some really good days. I am assuming others have had this problem. What do you do to get some sleep? Sleeping pills, anti-depressants? I am going to EP tomorrow to see about all my PAC run...

Hi - I usually don't post but after reading many of the posts and the great comments I decided that someone out there may be able to help me or give me some advice.
I have had my pacemaker since Jan 2013 and recently have been having severe shoulder and hip pain. The pain in my hips get so bad that it is hard for me to walk. My left shoulder feels like a hot poker is being jammed into it.
These pains have been growing in intensity for the past month or two. What could b...

Dear all,
I am writing to seek some advice as I am a 27 year old who is due to have a pacemaker fitted possibly this week.
Here's my story:
I have always known that I had a slow pulse rate but never thought anything of it. At the age of 23 I fainted twice before work in the space of a month. I had never fainted before in my life so I went to the doctor about it and was subsequently sent for a resting ECG, 24 hour monitor, Echocardiogram and tilt test. I fainted on the tilt test a...

Hello everyone. I am sure there are other members that have gone through the storm also known as the disability process.
I have been denied twice and tomorrow I have a hearing in front of a judge. Please, anyone and everyone, pray and keep your fingers crossed for me.
I am very anxious and about to fall over the edge of the little bit of sanity I have left. Any wishes, prayers and fingers crossed would be greatly appreciated. This has been a long 2 year battle that I hope...

on friday I posted that my last checkup revealed that I had 65 episodes of rapid beats.
to answer TraceyEs question, I had only felt 29 of them & I recorded them in my diary on my phone. 2 of them lasted for over an hour and a half the rest ranged in length from 14 secs to 1 minute.
The reason I dont think that my meds are working is because I am on betaloc which I thought took the heart rate down and obviously it isn't, if I had 65 episodes.
thanks
Katherine

Hi everyone. Very new to all of this and was looking for some insight. I am a 38 year old Male, pretty healthy and exercise a few times a week. For the last 6 years or so I have been having what seem to be palpitations and have sought extensive medical help for these issues. I have never had a diagnosis other than normal and have always continually had the same issues.
Over the last 6 months, my lifestyle has been somewhat hectic and stressful at times. I got married, we found...

I went through and deleted a bunch of duplicate posts, so if you see it says 5 comments but you only see 3 when you click on it to view them, that's why. No gremlins, just an ocd moderator :oP

Hi all, this is new to me but after spending the last hour reading your posts, it feel so good to know I am not abnormal or crazy with the heart problems I have had for the last 4 years. I have had 4 sv node ablations to date and next week I go for a total av or sv ablation and then of course permanent PM. The dr is so hesitant to make me solely pacemaker dependent - but how I am living is not living! Resting is 130 and any stress or normal activity leaves me exhausted and at 178 plus. I too fee...

Once upon a time
A man and a woman, who had never met and were married to other people, found themselves assigned to the same sleeping room on a trans-continental train.
Though initially embarrassed and uneasy over sharing a room, they were both very tired and fell asleep quickly, he in the upper berth and she in the lower.
At 1:00 AM, the man leaned down and gently woke the woman saying, 'Ma'am, I'm sorry to bother you, but would you be willing to reach into the...

Many thanks. This is a wonderful site.It is like having your own private consultant.LOL.
The faint feeling is what has alarmed me.However, what you suggest ie that the PM itself may need some adjustment makes sense. It is programmed to have a base BPM of 60.More than that I have no furthur knowledge of the complexities of PMs.So,maybe I have too much voltage?? OK.That is a relief.
So pleased you two have responded.Sometimes we feel totally alone with our bionic selves LOL
