I received a St Jude PM 2210 pacemaker in April and have since been operated again because of a loose lead and will have to be operated again for the same problem. Anyone experience with this? I am afraid the this will not solve the problem.

Suzie G will it solve your problem is my question and what if it does not? Thanks Tracey E. I have already spoken to several other people and been given names and tel numbers for cardiologists at the UVA Charlottesville VA, which is not too far from where I live.
get another opinion

It's rare but not unheard of to take three tries to get it right. I would get another opinion before going back to the same surgeon again. Sometimes it's just bad luck. Sometimes it's the surgeon. Sometimes our heart is shaped unusual and they have trouble getting it in a good spot. Sometimes our heart wall isn't compatible with the type of lead they are using so they need to use the other type. They come in screw and barb type. I would try to find out which problem caused it before doing it again.
There's the rub.......

I have asked myself the same question ! I am considering telling them to leave it and I'll manage without but I guess in the end I will have to get it fixed again. I am hopeful that this time with 2 screw in leads & a lot of care all will be fine .... I hope
I had the same thing.....

Suzie:
It took three attempts (initial implant and two revisions) to get my leads placed. After the initial implant, I switched to a different hospital and a different doctor with the same bad result. After the 1st revision, the leads came out a 2nd time. On the 2nd revision, we changed from a "screw-in" type lead to a "J-hook" lead which worked!!! Sorry you have had such a hard time. I can certainly empathize.

I have had my leads revised/replaced 3 times since my implant at the end of November 2012. I am being very careful this time as I don't want to go through it again.
