Radio controlled toys.

Hi,

Firstly Merry Christmas!!

My 4 year old received a few radio controlled toys for Christmas and I wanted advice on how safe they are around my 9 month old who has a PM.
We noticed one of the toys controlled the other one when they were close to each other & visa versa so was wondering if it would interfere with my baby's PM?!
(Hope all you PM veterans aren't rolling your eyes at my silly question but I'm just not sure!!)

Thanks in advance.

GLADIG YULE!!

I want to wish Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all who are fortunate enough to be reading or writing in this forum. After a cardiac arrest while at work 3 years ago I was revived and received my pacemaker/defibulator. I happened the day after Christmas. If it were not for the technology that is available in our lifetimes, I wouldn't be cooking Prime Rib for my family again this Christmas.

When I consider the things I am grateful for this time of year my cardiologist and techn...

Pain after heavy lifting?

Hi everyone! I'm brand new to the group. I'm a 30y/0 female, who was born with a heart condition. I had a total of 12 major heart surgeries, from birth to age 20. During that time I had two aortic valve replacements, with the most recent in 2002, where I was given a mechanical valve. In December of 2010 I had a pacemaker implantation, which was a total lifesaver for me. I'm about 90% dependent on it, as my heart was only beating 24 bpm before the procedure.

For some reason, I'v...

Alcohol Ablation anyone ??

An interesting report in the UK press this morning :-

Medics in the Bristol Hear Institute have saved a patient's life by killing off part of his heart with neat alcohol rather than using the usual burning technique.

The 77 yr old patient had a life-threatening ventricular tachycardia after having suffered a heart attack. Usual procedures were unable to be performed so they introduced neat alcohol along a catheter from the patient's groin. This killed the area of the heart...

Merry Christmas.....

Hi All
Just to wish you all a very merry Christmas.

I've had a few problems post AV node ablation 9 weeks ago, including an emergency hospital admission for non sustained ventricular tachycardia (had never experienced that before, VERY scary). But I'm doing ok, my EP & his team are looking after me & keeping an eye on things, as are the PM techs who are checking my PM recordings regularly for any further VT episodes (none so far, thankfully).

FDA posting on Pradaxa 12/20/12

ISSUE: The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is informing health care professionals and the public that the blood thinner (anticoagulant) Pradaxa (dabigatran etexilate mesylate) should not be used to prevent stroke or blood clots (major thromboembolic events) in patients with mechanical heart valves, also known as mechanical prosthetic heart valves. A clinical trial in Europe (the RE-ALIGN trial)1 was recently stopped because Pradaxa users were more likely to experience strokes, heart atta...
