since my paternal great great great grandfather immigrated from england in the 1700's to buckingham quebec i feel a bond to england and on the other side ireland. after he immigrated we could find very little about him back in england due to the record taking at that time. it wasn't easy as at that time he would have had to work in canada on a farm in western canda likely saskatchewan to pay for his boatride and the boatride of any wife and children. now you arrive and get a monthly income till you establish yourself. how things have changed here. blessings to you and yours jessie
