Just found this group totally by accident. I'm a. 78 year old woman that went into afib when I was 32. It was permanent. I never felt anything until I was 72. That's a nice long run of excellent health and no complication from my heart. I started getting short of breath about 4 years ago and long story short, I ended up with a micra pacemaker. It's a small pacemaker that is placed right in your heart. That little thing caused one side of my ventrical to enlarge SIGNIFICANTLY causi...

After 9 months of pacemaker I woke up last night and had a feeling of my heart pounding. Is this something to follow with my doctor or is it normal?

Hello, I'm Quianna or Key. On 7/26, my heart stopped 4 a.m. and my husband did cpr and revived me. One day after they installed my device, my 4th grand child was born. I was born with a heart murmur which became worst over time. I will say this was a situation that has changed my life forever. I'm 50 years old as of Feb this year and recieved my CRT device on August 1st. Looking forward to reading, learning and sharing. I'm healing nicely but it is quite uncomfortable and st...

Hi there,
I have just come home from hospital after having been admitted for upgrade of dual chamber pacemaker to a CRT-P. My current pacemaker battery is running low, only a few months left on it. My electrophysiologist had to abort the procedure as he could not implant the third lead due to blockage in the vein. I therefore had the old pacer reimplanted until he talks with his team as to whether Icould have the CRT placed on the right side through a tunnelling procedure under general...

I'm 1yr out from Bos Sci L131 Implant for Bradycardia & an avid cyclist with 150+ rides since using HR monitor and Power Meter on bike
Riding on same trail, using same power/speed, Sometimes my HR does not respond.
Ex: Yesterday my HR hit a high of 113 and averaged 101 (yes i felt crappy and may have had some fatigue in legs),,,while on same trail/power my HR will hang out at my Upper Rate of 140.
Thoughts? Does a pacemakered heart respond differently when fati...

Hi
I was wondering if any one has any experience with the Holter monitors or 3/6/12 lead ECG machines sold online marketplaces like EBay, Amazon or private sellers. I'm especially interested in knowing if any one has any experience with Contec manufacturers out of China, which sells a myriad of cardiac devices at very discounted prices. The manufacturer claims the products are state of the art and the digital filters on the holters and ECG machines can detect pacemak...

While reading these postings about what everyone had to deal with I decided to throw in my situation I have been dealing with for quite some time. My first pacemaker was in 2003 and 53 yrs old. It was a Medtronic. When I moved some years later, the new doctor decided to put a Boston Scientific pacemaker in. A few years later it was recalled and and had to be replaced. The one before that, in my opinion, caused an awful odor like chemical or metal under my left armpit but all my doctors and Bo...

Hi,
Newbie posting (sorry, again)
I am two weeks post Medtronic dual lead PM implant and I am really struggling in the evenings when I take my bra off. Obviously this is a necessity, as it's impossible to bath or shower whilst still wearing it (although I've considered wearing a bikini 👙 )
Have been sleeping in one of those soft sleep bra things for comfort, which I have to put on as soon as I've exited the shower, as I'm in considerable pain without any supp...

Sunday, went for a ride on the beach. Got to my halfway point, took a short rest in the shade. Got back on and my heart rate was just stuck on 80. Pulled over. Repositioned my chest strap. 80
Normally while riding easy, I'm 100 - 105. Pulled over again in the shade and rested a bit. Wasn't until I went uphill to find some more shade that my HR went back up.
Stayed up the 5 mi back.
today. I went thru som...

Was told everything was working just fine, asked about the leads, said they too were just fine.

Will have my next quartely transmission Sept.17 which will be from Aug 20.
Had wondered when the land phones become extinct what will happen to my transmissions. She said my carelink was not tied to my land phone. Which i thought was strange . As when...

I am paced 100% in atrium and ventricle and am also 100% dependent on the accelerometer and MV sensor both devices are implanted under the muscle.
I recently had a pacemaker replacement and was given the Boston Proponent L211. Before that I had the Boston Accolade L311 (battery was empty after 5.5 years). According to Boston the sensors of both models should work exactly the same.
Unfortunately, this is not the case at all and the first s...

Recently at a Cardialogist office visit , they did an EKG, The results of the EKG showed an abnormal R wave progression. Just wondering if that is something for me to be worried about. The Cardialogist at the time, said nothing either way about this finding. Later on,at home, I checked online, and read, usually with that type of finding, while it is not always something to be concerned about, it's more important, that further testing be done to find out,why in the...
Heart pacemaker and the use of implanted glucose monitor.

Because this topic was recently visited on this forum, I thought I'd post an update on the first 10 drugs that have been price negotiated by Medicare here in the US, effective 2026. Several of the drugs are related to heart failure. All are amongst the most commonly prescribed drugs for medicare (aka older or those on permanent disability) recipients. A step in the right direction. Also, please note that the prices listed are for those with Part D (Medicare Drug) C...

I have been diagnosed with Sic Sinus Syndrom and recently had a successful ablation procedure for flutter. My resting heart rate is in the low 30's. When cycling, I have difuculty getting my rate above 100. Planning to get a Boston Scientific Pacemaker with Minute Ventalation. I have read many of the posts here and this seems like the best choice for cyclists. I am looking for advice on what to do and not do as part of this process.

Beware when traveling from the Provincetown,Mass. airport.(very small airport, only Cape Air flies there). They only have a metal scanner. Because of my pacemaker was not allowed to walk though. Am pretty sure my shoulder, elbow and other marker i had would cause the machine to beep, madly. I had to have a full body scan. Pat down from head to shoes. Was told i had to take off my shoes, told the gal i did not want to. Said if she found something i would...
