Electronic Checkpoint

If one with pacemaker goes through an electric checkpoint like in an airport what should one expect?

nothing happens to you nor the device.  If a metal detector and it goes off then tell them.  I tend to tell them first but only to not have them upset at me after.  went thorugh, detected, then he wanded me, and buzzed over it, then I said that is where my pacemaker is and I got a lecture on my own safety and blah blah blah.  not worth it.  these days you say I have a pacer and they say it is safe go through...

but even the metal detectors are perfectly fine if you run into those at a sporting event or airport, etc...
