pain in neck is worse

My dad had a pacemaker put in over 2 years ago. He felt no pain for months as he recovered. Now he has pain that starts at the pacemaker site and goes to his neck and it gets worse every month. He hurts all the time and has no energy. Doctors just give him pain meds which he doesn't want to take unless it gets so bad he can't stand it another minute. He constantly rubs his neck to try to relieve the pain. Would love feedback on what is causing this pain and what to do to omit it.

I am 46 years old . I just had a pacemaker put in on May 14th 2012. This was my first surgery in my life. I thought it was very painful in the beginning. Its been almost 3 months now, I feel burning around the incision site which has healed now. I have muscle spasm in my shoulder that shoot into my back. I have aches in my upper arn and sometimes tingling in 2 of my fingers on my left hand. I seem to have occasional problems holding onto things in my left hand. My heart is perfectly healthy no...

Still having the legs swelling ...not as bad. But now I have a burning in the heart itself, just slightly pushing on the area above the pacemaker is very sore, but the burning is intense in the heart mostly on the left side where the device is implanted. I have an appmt with heart doc. on Friday, hope I can hang in there, Also I am very tired. Could sleep 24 hours a day..

Hi I am 59 years old, and have had my pacemaker for 2 years. Yesterday, i rolled out of bed, and noticed a pain, like i have pulled a muscle close to my pacemaker. Is it possible its just a muscle close to but not involved with pacemaker? Has anyone ever had this to happen? I do not want to go to Dr. unless i am almost for sure it has something to do with pacemaker.

Hello folks, I'm new to the forum, but am a veteran to the pacemaker world, having had my third device fitted two years ago at the age of 37. I suffered from SVT amongst other things, so the PM seemed like the way to go. In the fourteen years since I've had the PM I've had a good unrestricted life. I lift weights and drink beer without side effects.
Anyway, over the last month, I've started to see some of the old symptoms. SVT and missed beats. I've had two incidents where by pulse h...

But,
have had a PM (St. Jude device) since August 2011. Everything is fine, I do my jogging, yard work, etc. Been getting in shape for a 5k and 10k for my birthday in August.
Recently (about the last 4-5 weeks) I've been getting a "funny" feeling while sitting down or just standing for a period of time. I'll be at work, and then all of a sudden, WHAM -this weird numb feeling all over my body. I get a bit light headed, but then it goes away after about 5 seconds. Also, if sitt...

I'm 33 year old gal that had my first pacemaker inserted 4/30/2012 for VasoVagal Syncope.
Its in my upper left chest area, although about 2 inches below the collarbone, just below its scar.
It's doing GREAT and I've been symptom free which is awesome.
But at my checkup last week my cardio said that if the scar tissue doesnt tighten up the pocket, that we will need to do a revision soon.
But the thing thats concerns us is that its rotating easily...

Hi,
I'm hoping someone can help me with this. Because of issue's with the replacement I switched doctors, and it's such a drive to see him, I was hoping someone could let me know if this has happened to them at all.
Since my generator replacement, which was put under my muscle, which I know is more painful, I've had a lot of pain. Now that it's been over a month, it looks well healed, but cannot touch it without hurting, and by hurting, I mean like burning pain.
I'm...
Any advice please...

I will try my best to keep this as short as possible. I have complete heart block and a dual chamber pacemaker. I recently managed to fracture my ventricle lead. They did not remove the broken lead as it was there too long but did add a new lead. Since the procedure I have felt awful. I have had my pacer for 10 plus years and it has never taken this long to bounce back from surgery. I have no energy and am getting a lot of pressure and tightness in my chest. Since the surgery they found on x-r...

Had dual lead PM put in in November of last year. Have had 3 checks so far, always told everything is fine. Never feel like everything is fine. I am paced 100%. AV ablated. I have chronic a fib. PM checks show in A FIB maybe 4% of the time. But I'm assuming they are checking a 2 week period from what they tell me.
Problem is I have had leg and ankle swelling since the PM was inserted. I hav e addressed this issue with ALL my doctors and one even told me I was being vain.!! Really! never...

I've had my pm since February. This past week I've started to experience underarm swelling near my pm. I assume it's in my lymph nodes. Has anyone had a similar situation?

I am 7 weeks into my PM and yesterday they operated again to move it and properly implant it. My shoulder is worse than ever and now the surgical site is killing me! Dr moved it down, over toward the center of the body, turned it around, stitched up the original pocket and stapled me closed. This time it is buried deep into the pec muscle. I don't like taking pain meds.....but thank God we have them.

I'm a 59 year old male with brugada syndrome. I had a replacement defibrillator fitted in April this year, after a lead on the previous one fractured. Since it has been fitted I have been in constant pain. I have been checked for any infection but am still getting really bad soreness and shooting pain across my chest. The previous defib was a different shape to my new one and I was told this could cause rubbing, but I am in such pain that I am getting really depressed. Has anyone else had th...

Hi. I am 52 years old and have sick sinus syndrome. I had a pacemaker inserted almost three weeks ago. It feels like it has moved and feels a bit uncomfortable. I also experience a few tingling sesations every now and then. Has anyone else ever experienced this before? I am also feeling a little sad because the reality of having a permanent device to help my heart keep rythm is now setting in. Any suggestions for coping
