leg swelling

Had dual lead PM put in in November of last year. Have had 3 checks so far, always told everything is fine. Never feel like everything is fine. I am paced 100%. AV ablated. I have chronic a fib. PM checks show in A FIB maybe 4% of the time. But I'm assuming they are checking a 2 week period from what they tell me.
Problem is I have had leg and ankle swelling since the PM was inserted. I hav e addressed this issue with ALL my doctors and one even told me I was being vain.!! Really! never had leg swelling before PM. Now it is to the point of a vasculitis diagnosis, and GP doc wants me to go on Prednisone. Told doc chronic use of prednisone is most likely the cause of my leaky mitral valve. Still wants me to take the stuff, Not only are my legs swelling they go numb with sitting even 10 minutes and have blood under the skin and become very sore.
Had blood work done and was told my BNP test was slightly elevated but nothing to worry about, Frankly I'm really disgusted, since the swelling was nothing to worry about and now its progressed to this level, and now the BNP test is nothing to worry about, Whats next total heart failure???

Anyone else had the misfortune of this kind of crap???

Leg swelling is never a good thing pacer or not. It is an indication of poor return circulation or water retention. It may not be due to the pacemaker, but rather due to the condition that required it.

Sounds like time for a second opinion.

I feel so blessed to have this little gem implanted in me. When I think of the alternative it is quite overwhelming sometimes.
