I am 6 weeks post-op after having a dual chamber Medtronic PM implanted. I still get a lot of flip-flops after any exertion and have to sit down for a minute or two to get it correct itself. Is this normal? Is it supposed to happen every time I take a walk or clean, etc? My doctor says it's normal, but I thought that was part of the reason for having the PM put in.
But what is most disconcerting to me is that I now have pain and extreme tenderness at the incision site. I put ice on it...

Hello everyone. On the advice of a friend, (thanks Ron!), I am searching for ANYONE that find or has found themselves in the position I am currently in.
I am a sudden cardiac death survivor of over two years. Went into a V Tach storm on 3/11/11. Prior to this I had an ICD implanted in 2005. The combination of my ICD, AMIODARONE and magnesium brought me out of it.
Now, fast forward a little over two years and I find myself in another horrible predicament.
I had bl...

Hi, I'm new here, been lurking around for a while. I had a Medtronic pacemaker placed May 31st for 2 degree heart block that showed up out of the blue. I had/have some difficulty coping with the whole idea, but seem to be getting over that. I went back to work last week, I'm an ER nurse. Today I went to see my cardiologist and he brought my EP doctor in because the past few weeks my heart rate has been increasing and I have had increasing episodes of SOB and palpitations. So we have done a...

Hello. My son is 19 and has pacemaker that was just replaced four months ago (epicardial). Two weeks ago he said he felt dizzy then a half hour later he passed out completely. When his pacemaker was checked it showed multiple episodes of high threshold on the V lead. Dr. turned the threshold setting up to "5" and did a 48hr holter. The holter showed no failure to capture or a systole. He has been doing better with the threshold setting being turned to 5v but not 100% This is all just happening s...

Hi everyone,
So, I had my pacemaker put in 3 months ago, and I've been having weird heart symptoms. Like, the best way I can describe it is that my heart feels weak or tired. And sometimes it feels like my heart is beating SUPER fast, and then I go to take my pulse and its at like...60 something. Or, my heart is actually beating really fast and hard and I feel it in my chest, but then I can feel my heartbeat in my neck (which is weird in itself and freaks me out so bad sometimes I ge...

Hi,
Got my PM 3 & a half weeks ago and it works like gang busters!I had episodes of afib beginning in Feb ,and the only hang -on is a considerable number of ectopic beats which I try not to worry about. My question:Would I be a candidate for ablation procedure, or just put up with the estrasystole? If I get going, with my day, they seem to disappear. If I think about them, there they are!

My husband has a Pacemaker-CRT/D device. His heart is being paced at 80 beats per minute but I am getting pulse rate in the 40's & 50's and ver irregular.I know his A-fib is bleeding down into the ventricles and messing with his heart rate. He also is having PVC's. he feels weak and exhausted. He has follow up with EP on Aug 8. Dr changed settings 10 days ago but is not working out very well today. Any advice or should I consider ER. Drs here do not take calls but suggest ER.

Hello - I'm new to this site and the PM world. I received the Medtronic MRI Compatible PM 3 mos ago. I've had pressure in my left arm from day 1 & a few wks ago my arm swelled so bad I thought it would pop. I have constant swelling but not to the same extent that sent to Urgent Care. There's no blood cot, all testing is negative. My Dr thinks I could be allergic to the coating on the leads which he says is rare, but not unheard of. Now I have shortness of breathe on minimal activity. Just won...

Hi friends... still too sick to write much, but last weekend spent 3 days in hospital w/severe dehydration due to C.diff effects.
I told them I was sick!.... now they believe me! LOL!
ER infectious disease doc took me off antibiotic i failed on & upped the anti to 250 vancomycin liquid.
Had a great stay w/ wonderful caring nurses who helped relieve the fear I had at going back into the hospital. ( Fear was due to elder abuse after OH surgery to repair a valve in 2011.)

Hey everyone! Anyone ever experienced pain 3+ years post implant in their heart/pacemaker region? I'm a semi-professional triathlete and recently have been experiencing a bit of pain in that region both during exercise and during rest from time to time. The pain isn't terribly debilitating but certainly there and sometimes kinda worrisome. I can tell that when it is bothering me on a workout it's worse the harder I work but like I said it also hurts at rest from time to time. When it first be...

Two days after my pm implant I developed DOT (clots) in my left arm. Now three months later I have developed SET clots in the same arm. So I am back on the warfarin, but it makes me pee blood. I am worried about the clots cause that is what killed my dad at a young age. Dr says mine is from the lead in the vein...?

I have had quite a few different arrhythmias over the years; but since my replacement in November I get intermittent "episodes" that can last for up to 3 mins in which time I feel strong palpitations a slow heartrate and presyncope which brings me to a point I have to stop and sit, After I get myself together I am fine until the next one.
I am wondering if I have some kind of intermittent malfunction of the battery or leads.
I have a Medtronic epicardial pacemaker, the battery...

I wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for pacemakers. I've had mine for 35+ years. I was fainting all of the time and had flat-lined also. I feel very blessed to live in this time of technology.
