Pain in pacemaker/heart region

Hey everyone! Anyone ever experienced pain 3+ years post implant in their heart/pacemaker region? I'm a semi-professional triathlete and recently have been experiencing a bit of pain in that region both during exercise and during rest from time to time. The pain isn't terribly debilitating but certainly there and sometimes kinda worrisome. I can tell that when it is bothering me on a workout it's worse the harder I work but like I said it also hurts at rest from time to time. When it first began occurring it was occasionally painful to the touch in that region.

Yeah I just hope it doesn't end up being something that requires and intervention. It's getting in the way of my training and I have an ironman in 130days

Not a triathlete ..but

I workout and had pain in my pacemaker area many years after getting my 1st one. Even my 2nd pacemaker took getting use to, smaller and location slightly different. I do hand weights and low-impact aerobics. Sometimes there is a discomfort and slight pain.

I have pain in mine when I do a lot of physical activity. My doctor looked at it and said it was because of the location. He was actually surprised because he felt it should have been in a slightly different place than where it ended up...

He said it "rubs" on the soft tissue - a lot of activity means a lot of friction - and the only way to stop it is to open it up and move it.

it is something he is watching, and if the pain gets too bad I will have to resort to moving it..

My eight year old son had a pacemaker since he was 6 months old. He does very well, plays soccer, baseball, and rides his bike. I am so glad he is not ashamed of his pacemaker. He will proudly show his "battery" to anyone.
