Hello - I'm new to this site and the PM world. I received the Medtronic MRI Compatible PM 3 mos ago. I've had pressure in my left arm from day 1 & a few wks ago my arm swelled so bad I thought it would pop. I have constant swelling but not to the same extent that sent to Urgent Care. There's no blood cot, all testing is negative. My Dr thinks I could be allergic to the coating on the leads which he says is rare, but not unheard of. Now I have shortness of breathe on minimal activity. Just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience with this or similar device or aware of any publications on such a situation & how was it resolved? THX

Arm swelling

Hi, I have some swelling in my left arm. It is the residual affect of blood clots in the vein where the pm leads entered. They say the clots are gone but there is scar tissue involved. Other symptoms I have is swollen jugular vein and swollen veins in shoulder and arm. I am on blood thinner (warfarin). I have appointment with my surgeon in a week so I hope to learn more then. Have you had ultrasound for detection of clots?
I don't know about allergies but keep searching you may yet find the info you need. Best of luck to you.
