Hello everyone! Let me tell you a little....I am 31 year old female who has sick sinus syndrome. I had my PM placed March 2013.....the first couple months everything was good but then last month it felt like my pm was moving. I have a lot of tissue that it is under (not fat just am thick above my boobs) anyway so I can't feel or see my pm by rubbing on chest area....anyway last night I woke up to extreme pain and my pm had flipped on its side and is stuck there. It didn't move back. I went to the nurse practitioner at my cardiologist and ED and she didn't do anything. She didn't look to see if it was flipped or anything. She just said that probably didnt happen. My hr was 121 (I normally pace at 70) and was crying because of the pain. She finally said she would do an X-ray but then said she wouldn't have time to look at it until a few days. So needless to say I am still in extreme pain. My question (now that I vented....and yes I plan to get a new dr!) has this happened to anyone else? If so what happened?? Need help. I am in so much pain. :-(.

Hello !

A few weeks after having my PM it moved, in fact it sort of "disappeared" but my GP had a "rummage" around & found it behind my left boob :-)
It stayed there for a while & then travelled north again where it has settled BUT it is no longer flat but lies on its side which means it gets knocked occasionaly, Ouch!!!
Now then although it was & still is uncomfortable at times l was never in pain like you seem to be.
My cardio arranged for me to have an xray straight away to check the leads were ok but then wrote to my GP & accused me of "fiddling" with it .......................NO I DIDN'T ! l couldn't even find the blooming thing !
They will probably accuse you too, when in fact the doc's should have stitched it to secure it in place.
Anyway thats my story but the difference is l wasn't in pain, you need to get things checked out sooner rather than later as you shouldn't be experiencing that sort of pain.
Good luck, let us know how you get on.

I am so glad you got in to see a new doctor right away. We all have to learn that when it comes to our health, our bodies, our devices, that we have to be stubborn, demanding, or whatever you wanna call it so we can be heard. Being in pain with a flipped over pacer should have been dealt with immediately in my opinion. I wouldn't have left and/or I would have demanded to see someone who was willing to listen or help me.
All the best to you and keep us posted.
Take care,
Pookie

Ok so I went to a NEW doctor today...I have pouchitis--inflammation and infection in the pocket of my pacemaker. If they would have read my xray yesteray they could have already figured it out. Frustrating. Also having so emptying issues on my heart. My valves are closing too quick. Anyway. Getting all my records sent to my new doctor to review and get a second opinion. Just glad I have an answer and am now hopefully going to feel better.
