I am on my 3rd day post pm implant and I have encountered an unexpected complication. I had the pm installed because I have had sinus bradycardia (37-47 bpm) over the past 4 years after I was put on a low dose Sotalol regimen a few months after a failed PVI ablation. The Sotalol had stopped my afib/aflutter, but with the side affect of getting easily fatigued and feeling tired all of the time. My EP suggested that I could either try another ablation or have a pm installed, so I decided...

Everything seem to be going along very well and then I went in for 10 day check up and found out I have some AFib.So this has not shown up until now. At one time,20 years ago,I had a slight flutter and took a beta blocker which seemed to take care of it. However, when my heart rate became so slow they took me off the beta blocker. Anyone with that experience ? Also my blood pressure has gone up since PM installed, now have to go to PC Dr.to rework that - good news I have more energy ,so it is not...

Good evening, I had my pacemaker fitted on Wednesday morning, by the afternoon I was back having a lead redone as it had moved. Not a very nice experience. However I asked the cardiac technician whether it is safe to use my induction hob which is 7 years old and he said no. So I have done research and get conflicting results.
Has anyone come across this problem, if so your advice would be appreciated.

2 months ago I had a single lead pacemaker implanted, today I went into the hospital for the A/V node ablation, I explained that over the last few days the pacer site was turning red and was starting to hurt, they put off the ablation and are doing a blood culture to see what's going on. Any insight on what could possibly happen now? I was told it possibly might need to be removed and re implanted.

I am a newly 60 year old female with Medtronic Dual Chamber Pacemaker inserted in June, 2013. I have had months of feeling good heart-wise. I've been down for a month with a nasty asthma attack and was on heavy oral steroids for weeks an weaned down as usual. I just saw my great cardiologist 2 days ago and all was fine. This morning I woke up feeling out of sorts, a little dizzy, nauseous at times, my chest is tight and for hours my heart rate was 125-155, and now is beating, hard, very slow...

23 years old had a pm put in on April 11th 2014. I have been having same symptoms last couple days as I did before I had the pm put in. I heard the tech that checks the pm say something about sinus tachycardia. The cardiologist originally diagnosed me as having sick sinus syndrome. I wasn't having chest pain or anything yeah I have bronchitis and asthma. I'm worried because the tech said everything looked perfectly fine but was talking to the doc about tachycardia and few other things that we'r...

Hi everyone,
Had my metal mate since 2009 for SSS,I was told the bottom rate was set at 60.
I also get Afib.
Yesterday had bout of what I thought was Afib but pulse very slow at times 48 or 50.
Now I thought it couldn't go below 60. Is this correct or am I just a bit dumb.
Returned to sinus rhythm in about 2hrs after taking a flecainide 50 mg and a soluble aspirin.
Episodes of Afib increasing.
Appreciate any comments.

Mothers in the group! I am currently 5 months pregnant with a baby girl. My doctor proposed to me that I MIGHT be able to have a vaginal birth if I take an epidural. I have long Q-T syndrome and have an ICD implant (pacemaker and defibrillator). Here are my concerns:
1 - My heart tends to beat fast normally and makes me very tired in certain strenuous situations. I am still able to exercise, quite intensely actually. But what if I get too exhausted to continue with my labor?

Hi was wondering if anyone has ever had their pacemaker pace before it should. Mine is paced to kick in below 50. I have Sick Sinus Syndrome. I am on 24hr event monitoring because I feel my pacemaker pacing and then my HR jumps to 100. When I spoke to the people on the phone who are monitoring it they say It shows that I am in normal sinus rythmn like 70 and then it starts to pace so my heart rate is not dropping below 50 but it is pacing was just wondering if this has happened to anyone?? Hello,
I have been recently diagnosed with pacemaker syndrome after five years of unbearable symptoms and searching for a doctor willing to help me. It all started when I had a sharp pain while exercising in the left side of my heart that put me in the bed for the rest of the day. My last electrophysiologist put me on Inderol 20mg per day... which helped a little with the symptoms; however, my blood pressure was staying so low, I didn't feel alive. I discontinued this medication about a mon...

Hi,
I have been having numerous symptoms lately concerning my pacemaker. I have been told that I am having runs of pvc's which the pacemaker reads oddly and gives me PMT (pacemaker mediated tachycardia). Has anyone dealt with this problem and found a solution.
I get pounding and shortness of breath with activity.

I have had three pacemakers, the most recent Dec. 2010. The first pacemaker got infected, treated with vancomycin iv for six weeks. This failed to work and pacemaker removed, old pocket filled with antibiotic and J P drain. Two weeks in the hospital, then a second device installed. Now the most recent device is swollen and red. I am scared of this!

Hello,
I'm new to this site. This is my fist post. I read a lot of post about pacemakers beeping. I woke up around 3:30 am one day last week and I heard a high pitch beep. I would beep about every 3 seconds. I finally figured out if was my pacemaker after putting my head under the covers to listen. It beep about 3 hrs and quit. My doctor said he didn't know why it did it because my reading says everything is ok. Just found this interesting. Does anyone reoccurring atrial fibrillati...

Hi all,
It was discovered over the summer that I developed a junctional rhythm hidden in a dead zone that they could not adjust settings to fix. So it was recommended that I live with it, as ablading my AV node would risk heart failure. I have a dual chamber Revo due to sinus node ablation for serious SVT. The SVT still appears above 140-180, but below 140 my sinus note stops working and the pacer does all the work. I am 99% top lead and 2-4% bottom lead. So thats my background... now...

I had a Medtronic ADDR01 put in last November. It is doing fine but I have had shoulder and neck pain ever since the surgery. Is this common? I also have two small bumps that show on the top side of the device. What are they. thanks.
