Pacemaker beeping

Hello,
I'm new to this site. This is my fist post. I read a lot of post about pacemakers beeping. I woke up around 3:30 am one day last week and I heard a high pitch beep. I would beep about every 3 seconds. I finally figured out if was my pacemaker after putting my head under the covers to listen. It beep about 3 hrs and quit. My doctor said he didn't know why it did it because my reading says everything is ok. Just found this interesting. Does anyone reoccurring atrial fibrillation? What treatment are you getting? ljohnson

Another beeping experiencee !

I've had a Medtronic Advisa dual lead model for about 3 yrs and it started beeping for the first time yesterday.

I was standing very close to a neighbour's induction hob in their kitchen and my PM started beeping .I moved away, the beeping stopped, I moved near to the hob and it started again.

According to the Medtronic website , you shouldn't go within 2 feet of an induction hob which I certainly was doing but I had never been made aware that my little friend is capable of making a beeping sound. I can only assume that it does this as a warning, but it would have been nice to have been told this !

I realise that a battery on its last legs can cause beeping but I had mine checked a couple of weeks ago and it is good for another 8 yrs

Hi, i am male, almost 60, I got my pacemaker in oct of 2012 for tachybrady, SSS and paroxysmal Afib.

Presently I am taking 5 mg of bisoprolol per day to control the heart rate, and 20 mg of rivaroxaban (xaralto) for anti blood clotting. I am physically active and feel that I am doing well. No beeping :)

Yes I have had lone AF for the last 14 years, for the first 8 years I was getting it 1-3 times a week for about 12 hours at a time, all the Cardio gave me was Sotalol, and blood thinners. Then I went to an EP who did 7 hour PVI (ablation) That helped but I was getting AF about 3 times a month, I then got a PM, and that made it about one per month. So I did some research, and am taking supplements of Magnesium, Potassium, Calcium and fish oil, In the last 2 years I have only had AF twice, and that was only when I Don't watch my diet. I don,t take any blood thinners but have Clexane injections that I can use if I get AF.

last week I finished my 14 day heart monitor test. They failed to notify me with the usual digital message on the monitor, so I called to confirm. "Yes, it indeed concluded, pack up unit in envelope provided and return to post office." Well, I did just that, but was not able to get to PO for about a day. I got into my car after work, and heard a beeping. I freaked out thinking it was my pm. So I got out of the car, and I could not hear it anymore. I was relieved, but realized it was coming from the sealed pre paid envelope with the heart monitor in it! (cardionet- by the way). Well, you probably guessed it: the beeping was from the message on the monitor saying my test was concluded! I had to press a button to stop it. What would have happened if I had dropped it at the PO? They may have gotten the bomb squad and blew it up! it would have served that company right! In fact, I actually considered dropping it into box after hours while beeping, but my husband talked me out of it. Good thing, because often times there are cameras.
Who knew this stuff could happen?? I was never told my pm could beep, but you all warned me. I thank you for that.

I got mine thru Lifewatch and actually when I was done, I powered down the phone so didn't have to worry about beeping.
