I was a bit underwhelmed by my pacemaker check.... I must admit, I was expecting to at least get some advice as to when I can start doing arm exercises, planks, that sort of thing, and although the medical staff in attendance did everything necessary with the pacemaker, they weren’t very helpful regarding going back to work, or indeed, the fitness questions and advised me to get in touch with my doctor?
I have a very physical job, with a lot of pushing and pulling... and with no s...

I would appreciate feedback on Cardiac Re-synchronization Therapy. My husband's electrophysiologist is recommending this as it is time to replace his pacemaker and he is experiencing a persistant irregular heartbeat. He has had a 5-box mini maze (2011), several ablations and drug therapy. This has worked on-and off for years, but now nothing seems to be able to control it. His previous electrophysiologist had also recommended this.

I have a chance to go to Mexico for a 5 day vacation, I'm not sure about going out of the country with a pacemaker, afraid something will go wrong with it in a foreign country. Any advice? I've had my pacemaker since 2015, so when my vacation comes up I'll have it 4 years with no issues and it paces only 1% and I will be 73 at vacation time.

My elderly mom received a pacemaker today. The hospital handed me this Merlin@home device. It says it must be connected to an analog line. That’s tough because she is deaf and doesn’t have a phone. She does have WiFi. Is that an option? Thanks in advance!

Due to the recent deluge of questions pertaining to the penalties for early withdrawl, or more specifically what would cause it, the bored got together and discussed how we might better service our members needs and decided a proactive approach would best suit our goals. So without further ado, below is a list of questions one might ask regarding whether these actions would adversely affect lead placement.

My EP has suggested I have an early replacement of my pm. I have about a year of battery life left in my pm. I am on blood thinners because of one episode of afib and he says that the newer pm has a chip that they can check the pm daily and if you have an afib episode you can start on blood thinners immediately otherwise you don’t have to take any. I’m really torn about this. I really need input.

Hi, just new to the group. Had a pacemaker put in last year. An ablation one day then the pacemaker the next.
Since the implant, I have had two or three adjustments, however, I continue to have periodic racing of my heart (pacemaker is set between 60 and I think 100) however about 80 or so, my heart will race and I become very short of breath and feeling weird. It happens at random times, while resting, walking, eating- I have not be able to pinpoint a specific event that may be tr...

Hi
I had my first PM implanted last week, 17 October, and have been doing a lot of walking since.
Until today my pulse rate when walking was pretty consistently between 90- 100 [using a smart watch].
Today when I started my PR was 117. Within 5 minutes it had dropped to the 50s. Quite regularly it fell into the 40s, as low as 41. It went up when I stopped. [Right now it 70 about 30 minutes after getting home].
However I was advi...

Spent Sunday in ER by ambulance! Tachycardia 200 and Afib. First event since pm implant 2 weeks ago. Started on Cardizem and sent home. Rate stayed high so saw EPs PA yesterday, Cardizem dosage doubled to 240, started on Flecainide and I think I converted during the night. EP is going to do AV ablation ASAP, hopefully by Friday. I hope so because meds are making me miserable plus the discomforts still from recent implant. Thanks for listening. Appreciate this site❤️

Current issue of Automobile magazine (hardly a left or right mag) has this article: "Casualties of War." It describes the POTUS's former love of Harley Davidson. Now, the POTUS is supporting a Harley boycott due to the company's decision to move more of it's production offshore due to the POTUS trade policies. Why, and what has this to do with pacemakers, you ask? "A study by the Peterson Institue predicted that 195,000 jobs will be los...

I’m 27, was diagnosed with sick sinus syndrome at 18 which has worsened over time and developed Junctional Escape rhythm as well. My week long monitor showed a range of 32-198 bpm while I was on extremely limited activity restriction (no exercising, no walking more than 50ft, no lifting over 5lbs, etc). Had a pacemaker placed two weeks ago. My procedure was complicated and they were only able to place a ventricular lead even though I have a dual chamber pacemaker. I continue feeling flu...

I know this has probably been asked many times but should I consider getting a braclet/necklece. I have a pace maker for 3rd degree heart block that just paces for me when my heart can't send signals to the nodes on its own and and does not allow me to get my heart rate bellow 60. Is it worth having a medical ID bracelet I mean I keep my medical card in my wallet that is always on me. I justed wanted everyones input and if so where is the best site to get one.
