Hi everyone Last night I felt a jump in my upper chest that I thought was a Pac or PVC but it was different. I have my pacemaker on the right. The feeling started on the left and kind of shocked / jumped towards my pacemaker. I have felt a kind of electric feeling before around the pacer. But this was stronger..I have had the Metronics Sure scan dual lead for a year and a half. It is not a defibrillator they told me . It made me jump. Do you think the leads are loose or something.? I ju...

I recently purchased a small ultrasonic humidifier for sinus congestion and never considered the safety issue of having a Medtronic Pacemaker device implanted.
Advice as to "can i use it safely" in a medium sized bedroom.
There is no warning on the instruction manual as to safety advice.

Hello all, I just joined the club and I received my ICD this past February and was wondering if anyone had any ideas/knowledge on employment. I know there are a number of minimum wage jobs out there that may hire but my problem is I drove semi truck for the past 25 years, so if you are or know any truck drivers they will tell you they drive truck because it pays so well. That being said I’m in need of guidance as to a new career path that pays well and can carry me for the next 20 odd y...

While I was in the midst of writing my daily love note to my wife, it happened seemingly out of the blue. You know how it is, your attention is focused elsewhere but some innate instinct screams something is wrong. I quickly realized she had died. We all live with the prospect of death every day , it’s no stranger to us, still when it strikes, especially a loved one we find ourselves ill prepared to deal with the reality
At first, when I recognized the signs, I froze in sheer...

Hi All,

Im 38 and my Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist are telling me that a PM or PM/ICD are in my near future. I do not appear to have any underlying heart disease and I have bee...

Took my blood pressure monitor to my doctor's office to check if the reading was correct. The reading was 30 points higher than doctor's office! Could the pacemaker be affecting the bp monitor. BP Monitor is only 6 months old, has new batteries. I use it on my left arm, was told I would not get a true reading if it is on my right arm
Would the wrist b/p monitor be more accurate?

I received my PM 12-26-17. After a month one of the stitches at the end of the scar was still poking out and there was a whitehead. Naturally I poked and pulled it and there was a little pus. Called Dr. and he removed stitch and put me on 500 amoxicillin for 10 days. (My grandchildren take that much). Now it’s 4 months post insertion and the same end of scar is getting another whitehead. It has always itched but from reading the forum everyone has that issue. &nbs...

Hi.
I had a pace maker fitted 2 months ago on 2 March. Was wondering if it's normal to get out of breath easily. As I seem to a lot. And also have lots of flutters and annoying little pain issues
Thanks Gina

I am seeking advice on where to get a pacemaker and a doctor to provide a second opnion on if I need a pacemaker. I am an active, fit 39 year old female with an infant son and would like to continue running, diving etc. I am hoping to manage my bradycardia without a pacemaker so I would like a second opnion, but if I need one I would love to have recommendations on what hospitals/doctors are the best for people who will require having a pacemaker for at least 40 years (I hope). &n...

I'm wondering who else here has been diagnosed with complete heart block due to cardiac sarcoidosis. What happened to you and how did you get your diagnosis? I am very interested in any feedback.
Thanks for your time!

That five weeks since the implant has flown by. The day the ambulance took me to A&E, I had blacked out three times in 50 minutes, I was only sitting on my settee listening to the radio, but my ticker bit me! I had blacked out on a number of occasions in the previous three months.
There I was, just having been admitted and a young lady doctor knelt by my bed and said, "We have something to discuss." "Oh", exclaimed I. "What are your feelings on r...

My husband is 35 and is a police officer. He had a heart doctor appointment today and he recommends getting a pacemaker. My husband is the sole provider for our family, I am a stay at home mom. He is so worried about the house, our lives, and his job because I could NEVER make the amount of money he is making now.
I don’t know the FOP rules regarding something like this (I have to research) but I was wondering if anyone went through a similar issue.
The doctor said he...

As my Birthday rapidly approaches and I ponder how tis I’m still here the topic of aging naturally crops up its ugly perverse head. Cut the bull there is nothing positive about aging, it’s merely moving us closer to the inevitable time when we stand before the big guy and answer why.
So back to the topic in hand, aging.
As I’ve aged changes are constant and none any too pleasant. In my youth, I was a jet setter and traveled the world constantly, now in my six...

I am 71yrs old retired and have just had a pacemaker fitted not because I have been suffering from the usual symptoms but because my heart stopped working while under general aneasthetic before surgery started.
I have read the pathlets on the subject, before I considered myself as very fit and now know my way of life will change but what I don’t know is how much.
In my interest I forgot to mention was that I love to cook, and in doing all my interest I us...

I have a pacemaker that is 8 years old and wonder if I can use a heating blanket on my stomach to tame the gassy stomach. I was told when I got it in 2010 that I should not use any thing pluged in. Thanks
