Hello All!
Ive just got my pacer for a little over 2 weeks but i still feel very weird. Im still quite tired and short of breath- even though right after the surgery, it seemed better. I am behaving myself, I try not to raise my left arm but it can happen occasionally. I dont lift anything heavy and little by little, im getting back to my housework and exercise regimen. But i still feel weird. My chest feels tight, like its being pulled and my heart feeld like irs coming out of my chest- I notice every flutter now. I have SVT with bradycardia and other than feeling a racy heart, i was able to go about my business with little or no complaints. The pacemaker was preventitive but i feel worse with it. Will it get better? Will i and ‘it’ adjust?

Like you I have had pacer for about 10 days. I too feel every flutter , wound is healing well so that is good . It is a tough transition to make and a bit of a shock for most people. Just take it easy and keep doing gentle exercise to keep that arm moving but very gently, I hope we are both movong forward with this new experience.
best wishes

You know you're wired when...
Bad hair days can be blamed on your device shorting out.

The pacer systems are really very reliable. The main problem is the incompetent programming of them. If yours is working well for you, get on with life and enjoy it. You probably are more at risk of problems with a valve job than the pacer.
It'll be all right. For now, just move your arms.

Robin is right. Use your arms, both arms. And go ahead--raise the left arm high. I reread your thread. Your doctor didn't advise any restrictions. You probably should wait a couple of weeks before playing baseball or chopping wood, but otherwise get moving. Start stretching the muscles and tendons in your arms and chest, or I promise you, the feeling of tightness will get worse.
You should expect to feel differen than you did before. You are different. Likely, your heart is beating more regularly and faster than it has in a long time. It may take a while for it to feel "normal" to you. Still that day will come, and you'll look back, and realize you haven't thought about your heart or your pacemaker in days, weeks, even months.
A while back I was filling out a form preparatory to having surgery. The form asked what surgeries I had had before. When I read over what I had written, I realized I had forgotten to list pacemaker surgery! LOL
