Have been lurking in the shadows and finally joined.

Thank you all for the vast amount of information available on this site. The more I can find out about what I am going through and what to expect, the better.

Now for the YIPPEE part...before: EF 25-30% and LV cavity size 6.1....after: EF now 45% and LV cavity size 3.8. (7 mos follow up after St Jude CRT-D implant)

Thanks to all the great Doctors at Emory here in Atlanta, Georgia.

Test Results

Dear Friends, I just had My Device checked yesterday (26.08.17). The printed result says remaining battery longevity >10 years. Last time (28.01.17) it was the same battery longevity >10 years. The engineer told me that the device is working in order. Well, I am happy about the report that the battery consumption is low and I am doing better after my PMI in January 2016.

I have three queries to my learned friends about the test result:

1. Why episodes are not reported in the...

new pacemaker

Hello, I recently had a dual chamber pacemaker implanted in an emergency situation and want to convince myself that it was absolutely the right thing to do.  Last week in the am I was sitting having a cup of coffee and began feeling a strange sort of nausea. The next thing I knew I was on the floor, having passed out, and was staring at the ceiling.  I picked myself up and went and laid down for a bit.  I started feeling better and got up but blacked out again abo...

Just a question about messages ....

If I get a private message I can see them until I choose to delete them.

What I can't see are the responses I write.

Is there a way to see them that I don't know about or is that a possible "enhancement request"?

How many of you wear a medical id bracelet, necklace, or charm?

Hello! I have a wallet insert ready to be filled out when I get my surgery this Tuesday. I'm wondering if a medical id bracelet is also necessary and how many of you actually wear something like that. :)

bucket lists, continued

Continuing my quest to cross things off my bucket list, my daughter and I went on the bobsled at Utah Olympic Park last week.  08 mile track, 1 min 2 second ride with a professional driver, we hit 68 mph. I don't know what the force was, but WOW!! When they race they get over 90 mph, I can't even imagine.

This isn't us, but it's the same track and sled. The instructor at the top said it would start off slow the first two turns, pick up speed, and af...

The verdic is in!

The verdict is in! Tomorrow marks 5 min us since I got my pacemaker. Turns out I didn't need it so it will be coming out in a couple of weeks. All I needed to do to fix my low heart rate was come off the Bystolic. I still have atrial flutters but they aren't bothersome. Because of the flutters I have decided to have a loop recorder put in instead. (So I am still be a part of this club!)

what a long strange trip it's been!

(i really hope this never happens to someone el...

Weird feeling while sleeping.

Just woke up from a really weird feeling on my left side.  As I woke up, I felt a very cool (cold) feeling move from the left side of my chest to the left side.  Or at least I think I did.

I did not feel an actual shock but then I was sleeping when whatever it was happened.

I checked my HR which was normal 67'ish and my BP which was 111/79.  I didn't have any breathing issues, didn't feel uncomfortable, nothing.  Just woke up with that weird cold fe...

Bruising and swelling

I'm new here. I had my pace maker put in January 2013. Everything was going fine until I had surgery 3 weeks ago. Surgery went fine and had nothing to do with pace maker. I've been having chest pains and went to the ER. They did a Chest X-ray and a CT scan with contrast to rule out blood clots. Everything came back normal. I noticed yesterday swelling  kinda near pacemaker and a bruise. I didn't hit or bump it. They noticed on X-ray that the ventricular lead wasn't in the...

Just a coment

Someone said on here that your heart will not stop with a pacemaker.Meaning you cannot get cardiac arrest. This is not true. I wish it was. Your heart can still go in ventricle fibrillation. That is why people get defillibraters with pacemakers. Not trying to be smart here, just wanted to let people know. Cardiac arrest is still very rare and usually only happens in a damaged heart.  We can't worry about it, it can happen to all of us , just like a meteor, dropping through the roof,...

my dad diagnosed with bradycardia last week

Hello,

Recently my dad has been diagnosed with bradycardia and is advised to get a pacemaker implanted. he is 56 yrs old and had no heart condition before. But since last month he started feeling a little discomfort in the chest region. As now he is diagnosed with bradycardia, he will have to go under operation and it sounds scary. Though I checked online about the symptoms of bradycardia my dad has none of them except discomfort in the chest and low heartbeat of 40bpm. someti...

Heart Attack?

I just celebrated my first anniversary with a pacemaker.  I have felt terrific ever since I received one.

Last night I felt some "pinching" in the area of my pacemaker.  When I got up this morning and prepared to go to work, I had a lot of pinching and my arm and shoulder were painful, so much so I couldn't pick my purse up.

I went to work and called the doctor.  Didn't get a call back yet but I feel really tired and still have numbing in my left a...
