bucket lists, continued

Continuing my quest to cross things off my bucket list, my daughter and I went on the bobsled at Utah Olympic Park last week.  08 mile track, 1 min 2 second ride with a professional driver, we hit 68 mph. I don't know what the force was, but WOW!! When they race they get over 90 mph, I can't even imagine.

This isn't us, but it's the same track and sled. The instructor at the top said it would start off slow the first two turns, pick up speed, and after the 4th curve "things get real."  He wasn't kidding, lol, by the 6th curve I couldn't tell them apart and stopped counting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KUzogiXPxBQ

(don't do this unless your doctor says it's ok!!!! lots of gforce so it is definitely pushing limits and not for everyone)

I've just watched the You Tube clip . What a brilliant thing to do !!

Actually  just watching it triggered off my rate response.  I'm curious, how did your heart rate behave ?

My suggestion for the next thing on your bucket list is  " See a psychiatrist ! "  but I know you won't follow my advice

Cheers

rate response

The ride was pretty bumpy (summer track is wheels on concrete) so  rate response got a workout! I didn't feel bad after, caught my breath then we hiked back to the base. We also did a ninja course and the summit ropes course same day. I totally suck at ninja and the ropes course nearly killed me, hardest one I've done yet and high altitude didn't help. When your adult kid makes plans to spend a day with you, a good mom smiles and says let's go! Even if she's a little crazy.

The next day we went to one of the ski resorts, chair lift to the top, zip summit to parking lot. I'd zipped before but never that high (2100ft), that far (2 miles), or that fast (50+ mph). Maybe I overdid it trying to raise fearless kids??

My list has one item...ice to fill my bucket and chill my wine to guzzle, I mean sip, while I sit on the sidelines and watch you and your two crazy daughters (gee it is hereditary) stress your pacemaker

I did that after, had a cocktail or three.

It's a shame my kids don't have the same crazy, they like totally different crazy things. The other one is trying to convince me to do a full marathon. How about no?

My eight year old son had a pacemaker since he was 6 months old. He does very well, plays soccer, baseball, and rides his bike. I am so glad he is not ashamed of his pacemaker. He will proudly show his "battery" to anyone.
