Last time I had dental work (cavities) my dentist prescribed anti-biotics when I told him I have a pacemaker and cardiac issues. Now I need more work and my dentist has retired, his replacement knows nothing about it, my cardiologist knows nothing about it. If anyone can chime in it would be much appreciated.

Hi everyone,
This is my first time posting (but I've been lurking for a while.) My name's Aatikah, I'm 23 and I've had my pacemaker for just over a year now. I don't know if I'm just being paranoid but for the last three days I've been feeling my heartbeat quite hard for no reason. I've not been doing anything out of my normal routine and usually when I'm resting my heart rate increases slightly and my heart beats fast to the point where I can fe...

I have a dual lead Biotronic pacemaker. My question is does the ventricle lead interfere at all with the mitral valve? I have a mildly prolapsed mitral valve, but very rarely had an irregular heart beat. Since the pacemaker has been inserted the irregularities have increased greatly.
Also, something new .... walk 10 feet and heart rate goes from 60 to 90.
I mentioned in an earlier email that the heart hospital here closed and all the cardiologist and the one EP ha...

I have been virtually 100% paced for most of my pace maker years - now going on 9 years. I had my 6 month interrogation today and asked the Medtronic tech what my escape rythym is . She said they can only let the heart rate go down to 30 bpm on the interrogation and thats where mine was. Now I am wondering, without the pace maker, would my heart beat at all or would there be a survival mode. I don't have any heart damage and elected to get the pace ma...

Hello all! I was recently diagnosed with a 3rd degree AV Block and am supposed to get a PM installed soon. I am a 42 years old and have always been active but recently started getting winded easy in the past year and felt dizzy after standing. Who knows why it happened but don't really care. I just want to get this thing done and feel better. My doctor told me I could get the PM installed deeper into the pectoral muscle to make the bulge less noticeable. &nbs...

Hi All, 2nd post.
I am 4 months post dual pacemaker for heartblock 1 and 2. I still feel palpitations but reading posts people are saying the heart cannot miss beats with a pacemaker fitted. When I feel them I put my blood pressure monitor on and this also picks up the missed beats. It can occur once or ten times a day and sometimes nothing for two days. I am currently working hard to lower my blood pressure through di...

I'm 45 year old, triathlete, very active person at work.
about 2 months ago I found out that I needed a pacemaker, so my EP prescript me a MICRA leadless pacemaker, since that in having panic attacks, etc.
i got Blue Cross blue shield health insurance ( Florida blue) they denied my procedures a couple times, they saying that is an Experimental investigational procedure. I'm going to try something called external review, as my last resort, expecting to get approved, me...

I have been having problems with my throat the past few days. I think it is my neck, I have a bad habit of holding my neck close to my chest watching tv in bed or watching tv. I also have spinal stenosis of the neck... anyway, been having pain when I take deep breaths or turn sideways with it. ... back to the strange thing that happened about 5:30 this morning. I was slepping on side, felt cold, reached for blanket. I sleep with a CPAP machine . I took a deep breath , it hurt in my thro...

Hello all. I ran into this site a few weeks ago and gathered alot of information in anticipation of my PM surgery, which was yesterday. I'm on the mend and want everyone to know that I went in "equiped" with knowledged because of this club. I only had few questions to ask the medical staff since I was educated through the club. I'm looking forward to a long relationship here!

I realise that this is a forum for cardiac electrical problems and that angina is a symptom of a plumbing problem but :_
When I run , after a mile or so I feel a transient chest discomfort which my cardiologist says is probably angina ( I love diagnoses which begin with the word "probably". It fills me full of confidence )
I have had a CT coronary angiogram and they found that my right coronary artery is 35% blocked. It seems that in...

Has any of our female members had breast screening , with pacemaker fitted.?
I wondered if their were any complications as the screening itself usually pulls on the muscles around the pacemaker.
Thanks Jillygirl.
