I have been having problems with my throat the past few days. I think it is my neck, I have a bad habit of holding my neck close to my chest watching tv in bed or watching tv. I also have spinal stenosis of the neck... anyway, been having pain when I take deep breaths or turn sideways with it. ... back to the strange thing that happened about 5:30 this morning. I was slepping on side, felt cold, reached for blanket. I sleep with a CPAP machine . I took a deep breath , it hurt in my throat, took 2 more to test ( thats me, obesessing) Then turned over had a shock type quick pain in my left breast. Took pulse, it was slow. I have a pacemaker not a Defib. I did not get freaked out ( proud of myself as I have health anxiety, as some of you know) Just lay there, breathing normaly, Now, my question is, do you think I caused my pacer to kick in with the breathing? and should I call the Dr. about the brief shock pain. It was more in the upper area of the breast . My defib machine is on the right not the left. Please let me know what you think. I don't want to obsess all day. Maybe my carotid artery caused it? My right one has a little plaque they said??? Thanks for the help in advance ya'll. I am going to a party as a Hawaian Girl tonight if can. Any suggestions what it could be?

Speculation

It would be pure speculation to try to guess the cause of the sensation you experienced. Do you have a Merlin or other bedside PM monitoring device? If so, theoretically that device would have transmitted a report if appropriate. Other than the sensation, how do you feel? I tend to avoid calling my doctor, and in my case would be waiting to see if that is a reoccurring incident and if it is associated with other symptoms such as weakness, shortness of breath, chest pain etc. I also suspect that your doctor will have to actually examine you, interrogate your PM or get a report from your monitoring device, if you have one, and will not try to guess what happened.
You know you're wired when...
You have a new body part.

I have had my pacer since 2005. At first it ruled my life. It took some time to calm down and make the mental adjustment. I had trouble sleeping and I worried a lot about pulling wires. Now I just live my life as I wish.

First you state "I have a pacemaker not a Defib." So if you have a pacemaker and not a ICD nor a CRT-D, you could not have gotten a shock from your device. Your pacemaker paces you, no shocks involved. You also state "My defib machine is on the right not the left". I do not think which side your device is implanted has any affect on shock vs non shock. If you have a device with a defibrillator a interrogation will show if you had a correction.
Call your doctor if you are concerned, this site is for help and support not diagnoses.
Most people have some plaque build up, it does not cause problems unless you have a blockage. Most 18 year olds have some plaque build up, just a part of North American life style.
My guess is you were just sleeping wrong and had a twitch, not a shock.
