Good Morning, I am getting ready to fly to Europe. very happy and excited. I had a Cardiac Arrest and by the grace of God I am here and with a brand new Pacemaker since Nov. 23rd. 2013. I feel great and would like to know about this telephone look alike home monitoring. I have a Cardio Messenger II, and would like to know if I should take it on my trip as well. I called the Dr.s Office and the nurse, with a heavy southern accent said no, but I was wondering, if this products would work we...

You should see the expressions on peoples faces when I tell them my cardiologist put in a 3-wire PM; one for the top of my heart and one for the bottom and one to charge my iPhone.
It's something between shock/disbelief & how can I get one of those ;-)

I am a 54 year old male who had been in Atrib-Fib consistently since Oct. 2007. I have been diagnosed (2007) with heart failure (cardiomyopathy), a low EF (20-25%) and an enlarged heart. In addition, my a fib has been having premature ventrical/atria contractions (PAC's, PAC's) with rapid heart rates greater than 170 bpm sporadically after wearing a 24 hour heart monistor. I have been cardio-verted twice in 2008 with no success and been on every known heart medication known. I have been extrem...

Hi, I have a Medtronic Relia RESR01 which was fitted last year. Im have pains which I am convinced are linked to my gallbladder and I was wondering if anyone knew which kind of scans etc were safe if I were to go for investigations. I know and MRI is completely out of the question for any tests but what about other types of xrays?

I'm at my primary care doctor's office and the nurse comes in to take my vitals. While she is taking my pulse on my right wrist, I tell her that I have a pacemaker. She drops my wrist and moves over to my left wrist and says, " Do you have a pacemaker on this side, too?" I didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

I think i'm at least one step closer as to what's going on--Had a good conversation with the monitor lady this evening. They are getting my readings in on a daily basis and have had at least a couple of documented instances where my heart rate has dipped into the low 40's during the day! she was actually surprised and thought it must have been while I was napping--unfortunately I don't get to nap during the day! This final week she said to trigger, trigger trigger any and all instances for more...

My ICD is programmed DDDR. My question is....When your device is interrogated, does it automatically shut off Rate Response? I did a search on the forum and in the manual but can not find this addressed.
I have no energy lately and difficulty "catching" my breath just walking. Had a device check and the battery still has plenty of juice (happy for that).
I saw only DDD at the beginning of the test. I thought the problem was solved. I thought the rep forgot to turn...

Just checking in. Doing somewhat ok, but having some real bad chest pains even right now. Been having a hard time sleeping due to the fact I been waking up not being able to catch my breath. Still doing the weekly Dobutamine infusions. They added more potassium and magnesium for me to take even though I been eating things that are high in both. Something about my body not extracting it normal. Just another side effect of HF. Of course when I wake up, the chest pains are supper high. Of course I...

Off to the hospital tomorrow to have my CRT-D surgery. Everyone keeps asking me if I'm nervous. I'm not nervous, just looking forward to getting it done. Have been waiting since June 2013. Have been off work since Sept 2012. After this is done back to cardiac rehab after 6 weeks. Then I think I need a long vacation. With other health issues, I'm doing things at my speed.

Hello everyone!
I have to tell you that I am been feeling much better, I am in 3 weeks since I got my PM third degree block.
Everything is starting to feel normal except for a very annoying feeling at night.
When I am asleep, it feels like the air is forced into my lungs and I wakes me up, normally my HR is fine, is just that extra breathing sometimes is only two short ones but sometimes is Long kind of painful.. Has anyone experience something similar to this?
Other than t...

Hi, just thought l would say a quick hello to everyone. Sorry l haven't been on the site lately, been very busy since December. We moved house & l now have my little country cottage, l love it out here,so peaceful but we did have flooding which is pretty common apparantly (now they tell us) but l had loads of sandbags at the doors which made getting in & out a bit like an assault course but it made me feel more secure.
Health wise l am doing okay & l am hoping all my friends here can say...

So, my advice is to go about your daily routine and forget that you have a pacemaker implanted in your body.
