Good Morning, I am getting ready to fly to Europe. very happy and excited. I had a Cardiac Arrest and by the grace of God I am here and with a brand new Pacemaker since Nov. 23rd. 2013. I feel great and would like to know about this telephone look alike home monitoring. I have a Cardio Messenger II, and would like to know if I should take it on my trip as well. I called the Dr.s Office and the nurse, with a heavy southern accent said no, but I was wondering, if this products would work well overseas. The key questions is probably, would it make any difference. Anyways hope someone can give me a good advice.
Thanks.
Gigi. :)

Answer to your questions. No! Sometimes I forget when I go out to take it with me.
I believe the TSA at the airport is going to look at that and give me a hard time.
Doctor's office says I should take it with me! Very undecided!!!
Thank Ian. I will think about it today and decide eventually.
Chao!!

Yes, it sounds like I will take it and for what is worth, I will be the first one on the plane. I guess early one at the airport.
Anyways, I appreciate the comment.
Thank you much!!!!
Gigi :)
Works in Australia as well.

Hi, I also have a Biotronic pace maker and a Cardio Messenger 11 , I live in Australia and it works just fine, I spoke to my cardiologist about taking it with me when I head over to Canada-Alaska in another 6 months and he said just to let them know before I head off on the trip that I will be out of range for 5 weeks and don't worry about taking it with me and to just leave it at home. pace-man
Another thing..

Realistically if the download highlights something and your doctor needs to contact you would he be able to? The device will work, but does your medical condition warrant the 24 hr monitoring? I guess that's what it boils down to.
I didn't take mine

When I was in Europe last year. Same as Pace-man. Cardio said it wasn't necessary. Biotronik rep said not to worry about it too much unless it was a protracted stay. I'd probably have forgotten it and left it behind in a hotel room somewhere like people do with phone chargers!
Enjoy your trip!

The experience of having a couple of lengths of wire fed into your heart muscle and an electronic 'box' tucked under the skin is not an insignificant event, but you will survive.

Out of curiosity I looked at the website and you can use the Cardio Messenger in the following European countries :-
Europe
Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, The Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey
But as to whether you need to take it or not ; it is your decision ! Have you found it to be essential since you have started using it ?
Enjoy Europe , at long last the sun is shining here in the UK !
