2 weeks out

I had a pm implanted 2 weeks ago to treat bradycardia and so far am doing very well. I'm starting to realize just how tired I had been for the last year or 2.

Same here, just a minor set back pulled a muscle but still feeling good. Got to remember how old I am, my back reminds me from time to time.
Are you getting out walking? If able? Want to keep moving if you can. I have one more week off from work. 5 k next Sunday. Life is good

Not Feeling Better

I have had my PM for 4 1/2 weeks, but I am still experiencing fatigue (some days) and some chest pains occasionally. I was in the ER for afib which went to BradyCardia after a couple of days. I had a heart cath and that was showing no significant blockage. Two days later they put the PM in. I don't see my doctor for a couple of weeks, but I do have a tech check this Wed. Should I ask the tech what is going on, or just wait for the Dr in two weeks? I believe my rate is set at 60.

Glad your PM works

Glad your PM is working. Had to shake hands with people today and they remarked how warm my hands were. Isn't nice to have a piece of machinery that keeps you going and makes your life better.

Energized,

I'm happy to hear you're doing well. As the weeks go on, you should feel even better. The majority of recipients are like you and recover with no problems, but not everyone is as lucky.

Cheers,

Blake

More benefits

Yes, I got mine in December for same reason and while I had blamed the low rate on two recent airplane trip that were very stressful, I now look back and see I have had this for a while and was just blaming it on now being over 80 years old. I was doing one activity like golf, or heavy yard work or bicycling and taking the next day or two off. Now I can do them one day after another.

But here is a benefit I discovered.
For a couple of years I had been complaining to my doc about nasal congestion and a cough from throat. I firmly believe that disappeared with new pacer because of good strong heart beat in my upper passages. I am free of that congestion and cough with no spray or decongestants! Or was it just happenstance.

Ask all you can from your tech and Doc. You can't have enough info. You can learn from both.

Good luck with your checkup.

Thanks everyone for the positive comments.
I had to laugh when I read the comment about warm hands. My husband has commented that my feet aren't as cold as they usually are!

You know you're wired when...

You have a little piece of high-tech in your chest.
