feeling better!

Hello Everyone!
Yesterday I posted about my first PM check and that I was feeling "discomfort" in my chest / armpit area. I also mentioned there was still one stitch left in the incision which my Dr. got out after lots of pulling, tugging and pain. Well guess what? I think that last lonely stitch was causing a lot of my discomfort! While my incision itself is still sore, I do not feel the tightness or the pulling feeling that I had before. I can move my arm a lot more and it doesn't hur...

taking a break

Doing really well. Will check in from time to time. Can't over emphasize the importance of a good exercise routine. Really helped me in multiple ways (energy. attitude, sense of well being). Get moving and do what you can. Small improvements add up over time. Become more self reliant. Devices and docs only go so far. Try to take more control of your own outcome. So long for now.

How Often Are You Pacing?

I am just curious how often (i.e., what percentage) everybody is pacing? I have a double-lead PM and I pace around 87% of the time in the right Atrium and 25% in the right Ventricle. Everyone is different, of course, but I wonder if it's like a standardized test with a bell curve and "average" is 50%.

My first actual PM check

Hi Everyone,
I had my first PM check today after having it implanted on the 17th of Feb. It went really well except the pacemaker nurse's first comment to me was "I was looking at your birthday and see you are one of my youngest patients" (I am 52 and thought thanks a lot lol). I get a lot of comments from people saying I am way too young to have a PM but they don't understand that electrical problems of the heart can happen to people of all ages and I really didn't know that either until...

Does anyone know how difficult it may be to switch office's. The office i go to just seems a little rude. Not only to me my insurance called me and said the office staff was rude a hang up on them. Had to have insurance fax the form to my wife's office so i can bring it Thursday to yhem to fill out. I know switching is probably no big deal but this is my first post op visit. Just hate to have to rip the pacemaker out of my chest if they get me mad ; ). Okay not really, but i am not expecting thi...

Protective gear

To parents of kids with abdominal placement - for those of you who allow your kids to play sports, which protective gear do you use...padded undershirts? My 7 yo is starting baseball & has abdominal placement. We found what looks like a really good padded undershirt with pads covering the abdomen...now I'm thinking ideally we'd have one that covers his chest too. Our son's frame is so skinny, his heart is just as close to his back, and what I'm envisioning to help him would be like a vest to...

URGENT Hubby unwell ?AF

Hi. For those that know me, I have a 5 year history of arrhythmias, ablations, PM....so I know when a heart rhythm is abnormal.

Hubby has no history of arrhythmias. He had pericarditis when he was 21, a result of glandular fever.

So tonight (UK) he has told me he has been feeling unwell since 11am this morning with palpitations. He was at work (at a hospital!!) & I was out all day...so we have only just caught up with each other tonight.

I have checked his pulse...
