interaction of Cipro and Prozac

On DRUGS. COM it indicated that there may be a reaction (heart palpitations) to CIPRO if one is currently taking fluoxotine (Prozac). Has anyone experienced this?

Hi kcy48 . I know that Cipro on its own can cause fast heart rate, dizziness and pounding of the heart ( as well as many other side-effects ) so I'm not sure how the heart palpitations can be blamed on the combination with Prozac. I assume that you will be on a shortish course of the Cipro.

And of course Proxac, on its own, has an enormous list of possible side effects; put the two together and anything is possible !
