I had a gall bladder removal...laparoscopically.

Yes, you should request a rep there. Don't just assume it will be done, make sure you ask. You want to coordinate it with your Cardio and Anesthesiologist.

Not sure if you have an ICD or not but the rep should be there to check the programming on your device after the surgery.

You'll be fine. I think this was the easiest procedure I've had. Here's a little reading for you.

Thanks for all this input - I just discovered that I might have gall bladder stones and I will be having an Ultra Sound of the whole abdomen tomorrow - and then the Doctor will decide the line of action - The situation is that I have to travel to Europe on Dec 7 - for 1 month and my doctor says that if required - I could undergo the procedure and still be functional to travel. I am 70 years old with Abbot pacemaker model PM2140 ( simple Pacemaker ) - and in good shape - - any advice or comments will be most useful - my email is : bluedruk@gmail.com - Thanks

I have a well tuned pacer. I hardly know I have it. I am 76 year old, hike and camp alone in the desert. I have more energy than I have had in a long time. The only problem is my wife wants to have a knob installed so she can turn the pacer down.
