As you read this, they will be wheeling me into an OR to remove 6" of colon & a flat polyp that could not be removed from the inside.
It was found during a routine scope job on Tues afternoon.
Got an instantaneous cardiac clearance from my Cardio late yesterday.
Have talked to the surgeon about electrocautery -he uses it extensively. Talked to anesthesiologist, also. This a major cardiac surgery hosp (St. Joseph's in Atlanta, GA) so he sees a lot of PM's. According...

Hello, just found this site. I had my PM last October 2012. To date all is well, and I am feeling just great. Had my check this last week and am now signed off for 12 months.
PM fitted for bradycardia, my dear old ticker was stopping 4 to 5 times a night, and whilst asleep HR was 20bpm, can only thank all the pioneers of peacemaking, what wonderful things they can do today. I thank god everyday for the quality of life I now have.
I will call in from time to time to say hell...

My 3rd pm was implanted 1/23/13. I went for my 90 day check up last week and found out that this pacemaker will not interrogate. I go back next week to meet with a tech from Medtronic in the hopes that they can "fix" it. Has anyone else ever heard of this? If so, any ideas what to expect? I've had some rhythm issues, but believe that they can mostly be attributed to my overall health and finding myself working at a fast food joint. :) The doctor wanted to double check with the interrogati...

I have been getting Afib actitivity lately.
Last week my device fired three times in two minutes. I was told by the doctors my firing was caused by Afib activity causing my lower chambers to kick in to keep up.
The device program fired to correct the situation.
Never had this happen before, and I was wondering if anyone has gone through this situation.
Thanks Gene

Hi all
I'm so pleased & excited! I did the 6 online tests, for the admin job I've applied for, last night. They were quite tricky & timed as well, so I only had 2 minutes per question for some. Those 2 minutes really go by quickly!
The hospital phoned me today to say I PASSED all 6 tests & now I've got an interview for the job next Thursday at 10.30am.
I am SO pleased & thrilled.
So my daughter is going to do some practise interviews with me next week as it...

Also, was wondering if you are able to get a tattoo with having the pacemaker.

The newer models are MRI tolerant and include add'l functions. Have any of your cardio doctors offered opinions/recommendations compared to the Adapta predecessors?

Hi, my names rob, i'm almost 47. Recently diagnosed with LBBB & low ejection fraction in the 30's. Dr. believes possible cause is untreated high blood pressure. After many years with untreated bp i'm now taking bp meds & digoxin, bp has improved to normal but no change in ejection fraction. Dr. recommended a crt pacemaker. My symptoms are very mild, my first though was "no way". But after viewing my hearts echo video and comparing it to a normal one, its clear i have a problem. I next met with t...

Maybe I need to drink more scotch more often. LOL
Yesterday was a bad day as most. I did talk to one of the nurses with the transplant group. Well, that didn't go good at all. After asking if I could get back on the dobutemeine all the time, she said she had to talk in over with a doctor. She called back and told me NO! Due to the fact that they are afraid that I will get another infection. So now they are letting me just die. That is what I got out of that call.
Anyway, I'...

I'm 35 and got my pacemaker a little over a year ago. It definitely is not a burden to me. In fact, I have more energy (which my husband enjoys), can do more things with my kids and have weight because of having the energy.
