Dysautonomia

Good morning, anyone have Dysautonomia on this group?
Also, was wondering if you are able to get a tattoo with having the pacemaker.

Hello! Yes, I have POTS/ Dysautonomia! I was officially diagnosed in 2011, but have been symptomatic since 2008. I am suspecting Ehler's-Danlos as a possible cause.

No tattoo yet, but I really want one ;)

Me, too!

I have been diagnosed with dysautonomia but not POTS, and I have never had a tattoo. My symptoms are better now that I have had an atrial lead added (due to dyssynchrony). It's hard to know whether some symptoms are due to needing a pacemaker or due to dysautonomia. My feet still turn purplish when I sit. I still feel best when lying down but am up a lot more since I got the new PM with the atrial lead.

I can only answer about tattoos ,I have had many tattoos since i got my pacemaker in 2005 with no problems the moist important thing is to make sure you get it from a repitable shop who uses all new needles for each client as infection is the most dangerous problem so be careful from where you get it, good luck

So many people say I can't have it, some places said they will do it. Doctors say don't do it. So I didn't know if I can or can't have one. (tattoo that is)

I was inquiring about the Dysautonomia and pacemaker, cause a group I'm on for Dysautonomia who have the same symptoms don't have pace makers so I was wondering if there was anyone else out there who had one.
Are your symptoms any better with the pacemaker?

Thanks Everyone!

Hello,
I am a fellow POTSy/ Dysautonomia-n. I was diagnose a couple of years ago. I pass out a LOT. In the winter not as much but in the summer (like now) up to 8-10 times a day. Many of my spells also end with a non-eplieptic seizure. Anyway, I am getting a Biotronik pacemaker in about a week. I am very nervous, but this is my last option. I am praying this will help. I am 20 years old and it is so hard to be in bed all of the time. I get weekly IV fluids through a port that I have implanted. This allows me to do some things like teach vocal lessons. I still work a part-time receptionist job at a local nursing home. (8-12 hr/week).
On another note, I just got my first tattoo a few months ago. It was a cold day, so I had a little more energy so I just randomly decided to go for it. It is on my lower right back. It is a musical treble clef and bass cleff intermingled into a heart :) I say if you want it go for it! A few years ago i was so scared of needles and would have NEVER decided to do this. However when you've been through so many needles, poking and prodding, etc. pain doesn't even seem to be a factor anymore! :)
