Recently had bi ventricular PM for chronic afib. So far in sinus rythym post 9 days . And doc says as long as I stay in sinus I won't have av A V ablation .. Has anybody out there had PM for Afib without Av ablation ...?

BiV pacemakers

Sometimes people with afib need regular pacemakers because their heart rates are too slow.
BiV pacers are not for afib, they are for ineffective heart beat call dyssynchrony. Usually they have heart failure and left bundle branch block, a electrical conduction problem.
Your afib is a separate problem, perhaps with the same cause. The reason they do an AV ablation is because the bi-v needs to pace the ventricles, ideally 100% of the time. With afib, the heart beat is very irregular and unpredictable, which significantly reduces % of the BiV pacing.
In other words, you got the BiV pm for cardiac dyssynchrony. You had some afib, so they talked about an AV ablation to make the BiV pacing effective. You converted out of afib to sinus, so no need for the ablation.
If you ever go back into afib and get the ablation, it will increase your bi-v pacing and thereby your heart function. Downside is you WILL be pacemaker dependent for the rest of your life.
