Hello everyone, I'm a new member and just had my PM put in on Wednesday 3-20-13. According my doctor, PM will take care of my slow heart rate problem. But, the doctor also said I have fast heart rate problem as well, but she coulnd't perform the ablation because the "fast" pulse originates on the left side of the heart and it's too risky to perform the ablation (whatever this means I don't understand). Anyway, she said she will have me on medication Flecainide. I took the Flecainide along wi...

My PM, Pete, made his check in phone call two days ago and my heart Doctor called today to tell me I am having too many
A-Fibs and I need to start a blood thinner. Years ago I was on Coumadin but it caused some bleeding --so it was stopped.
I do not want to start that again, but I am not up to date on the newest blood thinners. I understand that some of the new thinners make the bleeding harder to stop if you start.
I'll bet there is a lot of good advice out there as to what mi...

Hi I have had a PM for 15 years, I am lucky I have low blood presure with no side affects so far.
I have started getting nose bleeds most days, not bad bleeds but I was thinking could this be linked to blood pressure ? when I had my BP checked last I was told it was normal ! mine is normaly 60/90 and most Dr check a 2nd time because they dont think its right, I am told this is very low but as I have said no probs.
Anyway do you think "normal" could be classed as high for me and this is...

I had my pacemaker implanted 18 months ago. Recently I've noticed that it has "moved" from its original position. Should I worry about this?

Hi all!
I'll be participating in a study on mobile technology, as for instance smartphone apps, social media and state-of-the-art devices and how they help to monitor your heart's health. Thought this might be of interest for some of you, too. You can read more about the study, and sign up for it at:
https://www.health-eheartstudy.org/
And there's also an article about it at:

Hi Guys, I came home on Thursday. Tried to post here yesterday, it was long and got wiped out...and then I was wiped out so I had to wait until now to try again.
I'm doing very well, the Physical Therapist came today and went over the exercises with me. He said the range of motion is already 90 degrees, he said that was great. Been doing the laps around the house too. After doing all that it gets pretty tiring. It great to sleep in your own bed...there's no place like home!

I'm still fighting fluid build up. It's at the point now that I have to take a shot of lasix once every two days along with a bunch of lasix pills inbetween.
My blood count numbers are still dropping and now they want blood once a week. They are telling me that they are ab...

Hello out there:
I had a loop recorder implanted on Tuesday. Since yesterday I have noticed that both arms have a slight but constant tremor. Has anyone experienced this post loop and/or pm surgery?
Many thanks.
