Hi I have had a PM for 15 years, I am lucky I have low blood presure with no side affects so far.
I have started getting nose bleeds most days, not bad bleeds but I was thinking could this be linked to blood pressure ? when I had my BP checked last I was told it was normal ! mine is normaly 60/90 and most Dr check a 2nd time because they dont think its right, I am told this is very low but as I have said no probs.
Anyway do you think "normal" could be classed as high for me and this is what is causing the bleeds ???

Maureen, Have you had any blood work done recently? Blood conditions like anemia can cause nosebleeds. hopefully Heart

Just went to doc and asked to be off coumadin. They told me because I am still in a-fib the risk of stroke is too high for me to stop. I have daily if not 3 times a day nosebleeds. No time for nose to heal up and it has become real disruptive at home and work. Simply bending over can trip it. Doc said they could put me on pradaxa but it really would do nothing to hepl with the bleeding. They suggested seeing a ent but I have already had a couterization years ago. Device nurse said he has a lot of nosebleeds and ent said to stay away from saline nasal sprays as they actual dry out you nose with the saline. Told me to use vaseline on a q-tip. I'm trying it but although they have not stopped they have slowed a bit. I just dont like warfrin or coumadin at all but they wont take me off it either.
If you find anything else that helps let me know also.

No had no blood done just my BP taken but Dr says its normal but its not normal for me !
He says if I am still getting bleed in 4 week time come back to him, they are not heavy bleeds so he isnt worried, I am though because the BP is high for me.
I will go back and try and see another Dr one who seems to care.
Thanks for the post

nosebleeds

Hi! Maureen, Yes, high blood pressure can cause nosebleeds, and that should be evaluated as a possible cause. So can dry heat, polyps, sinus issues, medications, etc.. You mentioned yours have become persistent. Therefore, the cause should be evaluated now. If you are not taking any medication/supplement, even an over the counter one like aspirin that could be the cause, then, an evaluation by an ENT should be done. I hope you get relief and an answer soon. Hopeful Heart
