I had my pacemaker implanted 18 months ago. Recently I've noticed that it has "moved" from its original position. Should I worry about this?

The "original" implantation spot for my pacemaker was slightly above and to the right of my left nipple. Now the pacemaker is at the "mid-nipple" position but hasn't dropped any lower than the "original" position it started with.

I had mine 21 months ago. Within 6 weeks it had turned 90 degrees. It moved more when I had a digital mammogram, and now the wires are partly under my arm and a bit uncomfortable. When I turn onto my left side, and partly on my stomach, it will flip up horizontally! No worries says EP, but when I need the battery changing he will put it under a muscle, as I am quite thin.
They are tough and moving does not seem to be a problem.
When you next have it checked, ask about it.

Worried

With all the moving pacemaker posts that I have read on this site lately, I am beginning to re-think going back to sleeping on my left side which is always the way I have slept. I have avoided doing so for the first two weeks after implant, but have just started again even though it is a bit uncomfortable I sleep much better. Now I'm wondering if that is part of the problem with the pm's moving. Mine hasn't moved yet but......

......................your profile tells me that you are retired from an occupation that has little tolerance to 'chance'...
So, what do you do ??..ask a bunch of well meaning PM people what to do.
Now THIS is what you do...go and see the people that put the thing in....you had your job...this is thiers.
Last Nov my PM started to move about, my PM Pros jumped to get it fixed, especially when it was found to be in an infected pocket.
Result..mid-Jan it was taken out with the leads and new kit put into my right shoulder. All is now fine.
PMs are not designed to do acrobatics or Houdini stunts...you do not want to know the stories of PMs that have made major escapes ( genuine stories from my Techie ).
Please see the right people,..and soon.
You'll be ok

I wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for pacemakers. I've had mine for 35+ years. I was fainting all of the time and had flat-lined also. I feel very blessed to live in this time of technology.
How Much?

When you say it has moved...how much and from where to where?
