ICD and cancer

I had my upper lobe on my right lung removed from cancer in November 2010.July of 2012 I had a ICD place in my left shoulder.now my pet scan 2 weeks ago shows enlarged lymph nodes under my arm and in my neck on my left side were the ICD is.The Doctor sent me to a out patient surgery center for a biopsy. He said the would have to use novocaine because of the ICD the could not do it the right way.He got to one lymph node and the novocaine was wearing off and I got in extreme pain.He said he was not going to worry about the one in my neck.He told my wife that it looked like cancer but they would send it in.Knowing I had a ICD should things have been done different or should I have been put in a hospital or is it that once you have a ICD and cancer you are stuck with the cancer with no treatments.Maybe a second opinion?

Hi! With your history, I would definitely want a second opinion. An ICD is no reason to give up on your health or your peace of mind. I am sorry you are having to deal with so much. Get the best of care you can find for yourself as soon as possible. We are here for you, anytime. Hopeful Heart
