Energy

Depends. The pacer should improved your cardiac output depending on why you got it in the first place. As long as everything else in your body is cooperating you may feel more energy. In my case I experienced AV Block which caused my HR to drop to 40. I felt pretty wiped out. When they turned on the pacer and my HR jumped up to 75 I had my old energy back. This is the kind of stories you will hear. There are a lot of other things that can cause low energy. Some aren't fixable like aging, or other conditions.

best wishes,
frank

Energy

It does depend on many things, after the PM was installed my hr went from 40 walking 30s resting to 60, instant energy. After 2 weeks the rest of my body chimbed in, had that worked on, still energy flagged ,had the PM settings tweaked twice. Its been 5 months and energy is steadly improving. I have quite a few more problems than just the slow hr, if it had just been slow heart beat, the tweaking would have been enough it would have been faster. Talk to your cardio and EP let them know just how you feel. Best of Luck Jean

New PM

Hi Elle,

I'm going to throw in one "it depends" that Frank mentions. The PM should not be making you any more tired now than you were before you got it. All the PM with the proper settings can do is increase your heart rate and that should not have you more tired. After 23 days if you are getting more tired it is time to check with the dr to be sure the PM is not what is making your more tired. I was feeling better within 24 hrs. after my implant.

Good luck,

Smitty
