Hi All,
I've just returned home (UK) from Lanzarote where my wife and I had been on holiday complete with a pacemaker which was fitted on December 31st.
We returned back on Tuesday 8th and I'm now waiting to see a consultant which hopefully is being arranged by my GP.
The question I have is:- I still feel nauseous from time to time, is this to be expected? I'm a little concerned as I didn't get chance to speak to the surgeon who carried out the procedure (langua...

Hi Everyone,
In May 2012 I had my pacemaker and atrial lead changed. They were able to put the PM into my muscle bed (where the other two were very superficial and just 'laying' ontop of the muscle. After the surgery I had spent the night in the hospital and had considerable pain right behind my sternum. They kept giving pain meds but it didn't help too much. A day later I was in tamponade and had to have emergency surgery where they opened up the pericardium and put in a drain tu...

Well Hi Friends,
For some I haven't met I hope at some point I will get to meet you over this amazing club. I got a computer today and am pretty excited and the first site I come to is to write on here. I have been a member of pm club for a long time just have been without a computer and have a down hill battle with my health. I don't have the energy for a complete update on my health right now but it will come in time.
I would love to hear how each of you're doing that I don't...

Hello everyone,
I'm new to this forum but hoping someone can advise me. 12 weeks ago, I had a deep brain stimulation (DBS) system implanted in my body. I am a participant in a research blind trial in alleviating system of epilepsy from which I suffer. I am switched on or off for the first 2 months, then alternated to the opposite on/off position. I was switched on or off about 6 weeks ago now and I have no idea if i'm switched on or off, I have to wait until the 4 months has passed until I...

Couldn't sleep. Nothing new there. Anyway, I got home a couple days ago. Brought home a head cold along with my wife picking up the flu. Nothing like going to a hospital to get sick! LOL
Of course they pulled off a few lbs of body fluid as always. My team is telling me that that will be a problem that will incress with me over time. I am now set at 1000 cc's of fluid a day. That is about 4 1/2, 8 oz drinks in 24 hours.
In the last year, I spent right around 72 days in the...

Hi folks
Just to thank all who have replied to my postings over the past week. Your friendship, thoughts and support has been great. So many pm pals private messaged me and along with Jessie, my great soulmate, I seem to have gained two more pen pals. To me that is so good as I rely on my computer for contact with the rest of the world. Again I cannot express, just how good the PM Site has been for me. Although I am on the other side of the world to most members our support and...

This morning I get about 50 miles down the road and got text msgl from the folks I was going to visit. During the night one of them developed the Norovrius stomach flu. So turned around and came home.
I went through it about a week ago and should be immune, but we were looking forward to having fun together.

I had Pm about 3 years ago. I had one small block due to beta blocker usage. It has never had to pace for 3 years. Recently I started a calcium channel for blood pressure. At night it lowered my rate below the 60 setting and then that makes my heart go inot afib. I asked if we could lower the settings and was told no. I have read where some here have lower settings. Can anyone reply to that. Also I was told it could never be turned off even at end of life. Does anyone know if that is true...

Hello everyone! I am so happy to find there is a site devoted to pacemakers! I was diagnosed with Sick Sinus Syndrome in December 2012 (after nearly 17 years of being told I was too young to have a heart problem). My resting HR was always in the low 40s. I always attributed it to being in good shape as I run, bike, etc. During a recent medical test, it was noted my HR was 30. I was awake and felt fine, but the Dr. was worried. After wearing a Holter monitor for the 6th time in my 35 years...

Morning!!!!
l had a nightmare last night, someone or something was hiding in my garden shed & then started chasing me around the garden.
l woke up suddenly & my heart was racing like the clappers & yet when l felt my pulse it was plodding along at a steady 60ish. l am just interested as to how that happens? l probably should know myself what the reason is but l am not technically minded at all & just know that it felt weird.
Any thoughts?(please keep it nice & simple)

Hello everyone,
I am new here and I have been searching for this one question online that I can't seem to find an answer to, so I was hoping to find help here....My question is has anyone here been diagnosed with hypothyroidism and chf, if so can you explain to me what you experience, when you found out, and how you generally feel on a daily basis, and what medications are you taking for both?
seeking some guidance..
